Coming to Kerala: We visit Kochi and Alleppey to sightsee and explore the Kerala backwaters by boat

We travel to Kochi by train, and upon arrival in Kerala we stay in Fort Kochi and check out what the area has to offer. After visiting the Santa Cruz Basilica and Mattancherry Palace (as well as a few bars and cafes) we then head to the bus station for a bus to Alleppey. There we find ourselves staying a lovely beachside hostel and spending some time in the town and on the beaches, before we head out onto the waterways for a backwater boat tour.
