Thanks for the video. I started growing Sugarloaf in Texas back in 2020. We have harvested 6 so far this year. I am going to try this on our latest batch of slip/suckers.
@@JohnRosado-n8t I’m not a big coffee drinker, so it takes me awhile to get coffee grounds to all my plants. I would say once a month or slightly longer would be good. The plants I did give coffee grounds to (plus fertilizer) gave me some of the largest, sweetest fruit I had ever had. 🍍🍍
Hello! Thank you for the very informative video! One question: how often do you fertilize your pineapples with coffee grounds? I ask because I know coffee can acidify the soil and I don't want to go too hard and end up making the soil super acidic! 😅
@@johnkollias4358 Hi, thank you for watching! I don’t give much coffee grounds to the same plant…I would say I might give coffee grounds 1x a month or slightly longer. We don’t drink a lot of coffee, so it takes me awhile to feed all my plants my used grounds. I can say the plants I did that too, gave me sweet fruit. Just remember, you still want to give them plant food/fertilizer. I recommend Azalea or Tomato since they are stronger in nitrogen and I would recommend feeding that to your plants every 4-8 weeks. 🍍
@@twissol2494 I haven’t tried fresh coffee grounds. Unused/fresh coffee grounds are more acidic. For pineapple plants, I would think that would still be ok. For other plants, it might be too much for them. I would just make sure you mix the coffee grounds as best as you can in with the dirt and maybe use less to start with. Don’t let the grounds get in between the leaves of the plant. 🍍🍍
Thank-you for the tip on growing pineapples. Do you give your pineapple plants any fertilizer in addition to the coffee grounds? I can't stand the taste of coffee, so I don't drink it. What is a substitute for coffee grounds i.e., what provides the same nutrients as coffee grounds?
Yes, pineapple plants love nitrogen….so plant food like azalea or tomato works well. You can give them fertilizer every month 9or at least when you remember). I’m not sure, but I would think maybe the dry coffee grounds would work just as well? 🍍😊
good afternoon, also in Florida with 100 pineapple plants. i need to transplant growing pineapples into different pots. do you advise whether i can cut the leaves before doing so, it will make the transfer less painful on my arms. Will pruning all the leaves to a manageable size hurt the mid-growing pineapple itself
Hi, I have only ever cut the leaves that are dead on the tips from winter weather. When transplanting, I have removed the dead leaves at the bottom by pulling them off. I don’t cut healthy leaves. I hope that helps… I just recommend wearing long sleeves and gloves when handling pineapple plants with sharp teeth on the blades. 🍍
I started to add coffee grounds to my pineapple plants. Thank you for the tip.
I hope you see the same results I have seen! Keep me updated on your results! 🤗🍍
Your pineapple plants look amazing!!
Thanks for the tip :) One back at you is try some of Dr Obi’s Garden tips on TH-cam.
I use cold leftover coffee with my tomato plants I think I will try the cold coffee with my baby pineapple plant. In a spray bottle.
Great idea! Let me know how it works out for you! 🍍

Keep me updated and how your pineapples do with this method! The Sugarloafs are so delicious. Thanks for watching my channel!
How often do you fertilize with the coffee ☕ ground's?

Do you put the coffee grind on when the flower begins or threw out the growing process.
@@shannonmainer2412 Great question…I have started early on in the planting and keep doing it throughout the whole growing process. 🍍

Can I use fresh coffee grounds instead of used coffee grounds?

How often do u fertilize
@@brichhh77 With regular fertilizer, usually every 4-6 weeks. The used coffee grounds, I add a little bit every couple weeks/month. 🍍
So you've also tried nitrogen fertilizer and it didn't work as well as the coffee grounds??
Hi, I use both fertilizer and coffee grounds. The fertilizer is definitely a priority to me, coffee is just an extra step. 🍍
@@planepineapplelife thanks for clarifying

I didn't expect a cute lady to be in this video. You should have been in the thumbnail.
