Hey, really like what you're doing on here is very informative. I never knew about a lot of these prototypes that AMC and Jeep was working on. They're very interesting and really A shame that Jeep AMC and then later Renault and later Chrysler didn't pursue these concepts. It would have been really interesting to see where they could have developed and how they could have developed and what they could have become. Still to this day I think a small inexpensive four-wheel drive cheap to produce and cheap to own and cheap to purchase vehicle that is very basic in its nature would to the right automaker I think would be perfect and would Garner lots of attention. It's just too bad nobody is pursuing that everybody wants to build bigger more high-priced expensive four-wheel drive vehicles that are way out of the reach of a whole lot of people. But part of that also is too. Because of emissions requirements being what they are it's easier emissions wise to make a big, big huge vehicle work within its emissions requirements than a small one. That's why we don't see a whole lot of small little bitty import trucks or vehicles. That's why there's so many problems with the k trucks coming here to America from Japan because they're causing a lot of problems with emissions and safety requirements that small of a vehicle has to meet really, really, really insanely strict emissions requirements that are just ridiculous

Hey @slantfish65sd , thanks for watching and commenting on my video! I could not AGREE more with you! A lot of these videos I have made recently on all of the Jeep prototype vehicles that were never made, it's truly a shame they never got a chance to reach the roads of America. I definitely agree with you about the need of a small, 4wd, cost effective, cheap to own and run, vehicle is what the public wants. It's funny you mention that, at the end of my Jeep JJ prototype video I recently created, I mention the exactly that, the need of a small and ce\heap 4wd rig. In 2016, Chrysler came out with what I believe was a shortened wheelbase, JK generation Jeep Wrangler called the "Short Cut". Still maybe just a tad large in its size, Chrysler had the right idea of a smaller off road vehicle. Check out the Jeep JJ video if you have not yet seen it. At the end of the video I briefly touch on the 2016 Jeep Short Cut concept, check that out! I also made another "MINI JEEP CJ" prototype video, a concept from the 70's AMC had created but never put into production. It was like a mini, toy car! Check out that video as well. @wagon works, fun fact, the recent Renegade model was originally named Jeepster. Until the whole Hipster movement ruined it.

Hmm! Really… I didn’t know that. The Jeepster name is way better, cooler name than “Renegade”. Today’s Renegade nameplate slapped on what Jeep calls their current Renegade, is not a good look. Now if we’re talking CJ Renegade’s, yes that is cool! Thanks for commenting and watching my video!

@@wagonworks803 yessir was interesting to watch it play out. The “new Compass” had the Renegade badge on it in the Jeep studio. That doesn’t mean it was set in stone but it was a quick swap and already approved logo, name and the refreshed Compass was already doing well enough to resurrect the name.
