Also since you haven't built any MPC kits and know Revell kits. I hate to say this but don't start with that MPC 69 Daytona. Find the Revell 69 Daytona, especially if you want to build a stock one. I'm not much of an MPC fan and not too big on the AMT. I really enjoy Revell models and Monogram as well. I appreciate your expertise and comparison videos, very informative.
Do you think the headers on the 68 would match on Gm 350 396 or 427 engines or would it be incorrect. And the rear axle on the 68 is it a dana 60? and would it be the same as you would find on the revell chevelle cars or is it completely different just wondering 🤔
The headers would not be correct. You might be able to get them to pass on a GM 350 as the ports are in similar locations. 396/427 have completely different spacing of exhaust ports. Same for the Dana 60. It has a different look than the GM 12 bolt that would be in most SS Chevelle's. Chevelle's also have coil springs in the back and four arms for rear suspension. Mopar's have leaf springs, so that is a big difference as well.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler thx I was thinking of cutting the center out of the 68 charger rear axle and putting it in the chevelle rear axle with the suspension. I was wondering if it was correct look. Yeah I was going though some of my old kits and came upon a amt 66 nova kit rear axle. Do you remember if sae had a article on rear axles in different kits . 🤔

Thank you!. What is it you want to know, and did you buy one yet? I have had a few. A 90's issue with the orange and black stripe box art and a 2000's issue green and white stripe box art. And a 2011 issue red and black stripe box art. I have seen pics of the original 70's issues. Those were made from the 70 Charger tool and still have the 70 Charger RT door scoop!
Also since you haven't built any MPC kits and know Revell kits. I hate to say this but don't start with that MPC 69 Daytona. Find the Revell 69 Daytona, especially if you want to build a stock one. If you are planning a race car that may be different.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Hey Raoul, Lol, I didn't know to click the "bell" in the RH corner to see messages. I'm just getting back to you on a few messages. I watched your video on the comparison of the Daytonas. I found the 1998 Revell Pro Modeler on eBay the other day. It actually will be delivered today.
I even was considering using the rear axle from the revell 66 malibu with the chrome plate .for the next model show
The one from the Malibu would be better.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler thx I just want my car to look different then everyone else's
Yeah I was going though some of my old kits and came upon a amt 66 nova kit rear axle. Do you remember if sae had a article on rear axles in different kits . 🤔
My brother had a 69 rt automatic and it had the dana
Very cool. Plus rare for a Dana behind and automatic but I understand that did happen under certain options, Drag pack maybe?
Making that famous vinyl top charger, are you gonna use 6 hubcaps?
I bought 8! Bought a set of 4 and had them chromed. Then forgot I had them and bought 4 more!
That should do it. Pretty sure the bullet car only threw off 6 during the chase lol. I bought a daytona to build a joe dirt model. Im not sure its even good enough for that. It was the post office one "odd collection" in the metal tin. The lunch box was the best part of the whole kit. Its all tweeked and warped. Should have bought revell in the 1st place.
Thanks! Yes, The Revell kit is lightyears ahead of the MPC/AMT offering but that one dates back to the original annuals even though the Daytona modified kit release is from the early 80's I believe.
Video doesn’t load
Don't know what to say. Probably your device. My computer plays it and so does my TV. My phone however doesn't let it stream.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler ya it worked my computer but not my phone
I don’t know why that is.
