My question is; who is paying these rentals. Not the average Zimbabwean for sure. The result is lots of beautiful developments that have turned into white elephants lying vacant most of the time while informal settlements pop up everywhere. Our property market needs to find innovative ways to house the masses demand is where the money is.
Thank you for your comment and for highlighting such a good opportunity. How to address the housing issue with more affordable properties. Having these conversations helps us to identify gaps and find ways to innovate around them . I hope those who are into property development can pick on these conversations.
I am here in Cape town and there is a sentiment I keep hearing from some zimbabweans I have spoken to that having a house and trying to get decent rentals from it is quite hard. I know a work colleague who even opted to just place a relative to stay there instead of putting tenants because the return was just not worth the admin and all other risks. These are just opinions of 2 people I have spoken to. It would be great if you tried to find out if that experience is shared by a broader circle of diaspora zimbabweans and let us know😀
@@blessed9115 Yes the Zimbabwean property market is quite tricky; many landlords struggle with destruction of their properties and defaulting rent. Ive heard of some airbnb owners struggling with renters using their properties as addreses for illegal activities while they are there. Not to discourage anyone though but im saying theres opportunity for the industry to put on big thinking hats and those who solve problem are the ones who tend to become wealthy
