Part of me is sorta glad it's gone. As a completionist, having to clear All-Star mode nearly fifty times just for Mii Fighter headgear in the 3DS version and, with the additional requirement of it being on the hardest difficulty, a Trophy in the Wii U version is definitely something I never want to do again (this doesn't count doing it nearly ten more times for the remaining two Mii Fighter types and the seven DLC characters). That said, I agree that making it just another multi-man mode was not a good solution.

Ah yes.. On the 3DS i remember there would be an adventure mode thingy, a sort of open-world with all kind of monsters u had to defeat. It was difficult as hell lmao, but sometimes you'd find doors leading to a rest area with loot (and those gold insect thingies), i remember hearing this theme and it was always so freaking calming-- Like I promise you. Back then the child me refused to leave through the door, that's how much i used to love that theme back then 😭😭😭😭

Was sad that Ultimate did away with a true All-Star mode, making it a multi-man mode isn't that fun.
i really wanted to hear the all star theme for it r=then they just didint make one :(
Especially sad because Brawl (and I think Smash 4) had both. Ultimate's still fun, but it took away too many things honestly.

How I rank the All-Star Rest Area themes:
Melee > Brawl > Sm4sh.
I think brawl > melee > sm4sh
I personally am Sm4sh > Brawl > Melee
For me it’s Sm4sh > Melee > Brawl. Probably because I grew up with Sm4sh when I was like 5-9 lol.
melee's is more repetitive then the others
In my case: Brawl > 3DS/Wii U > Melee
