    It's crazy how how I can't find a way to go "Turbo Mode" like you did in this video. I play on console so I don't know if it's any different.

    any chance this still holds up in Tera Starscape now? I've seen a lot (mostly on console) of IH rotations involving pulling off 5 BH and no FA, and way less BS LOTW, including a guide dated dec 2022. But jsut because it's newer doesn't necessarily mean it's better, so I'm curious how this compares.

      I have quitted since the official TERA PC servers closed, so I can’t say for sure. However I remember that console version had different skill values and chains back in the day even though it used similar skill names so there’s that.
      The fundamental TERA PvE play style revolves around gear, maintaining high HPMs, sync-ing burn timings with a competent party and playing on low ping (

      @@felt3511 that's great to hear tbh. if you ever start playing games again just play something like league of legends where there's no permanent progression (apart from ranked but dont touch that lol). it's much less of a timesink. or at least it is for me some ppl play league for rly long hours.

      @@dana-wc8ng I used to play DotA 2 actually. Have went through the lifestyle of solo ranking from morning till midnight, rinse and repeat. Can’t say I’d want to go back to that kind of lifestyle haha. I think I might have just reached the point where I can put electronic games behind me without much resistance and focus on building bank irl instead.
      In TERA I worked hard to memorize boss patterns and improve/innovate my rotations to see that DPS number go up. In D2 I grinded hard and constantly improved my mindset and gameplay to see that MMR number go up. In real life I guess I’d just be working hard in my day job, while learning and building up knowledge on investment strategies in stock market/crypto just to see my bank figures go up. I guess life is more about numbers to me than games :p

    I'm fairly sure you can use QA instead of DC+Skyfall between BS casts to fit it into 2.0 proc and also have your last BS fit into that (DC power proc and reverse skyfall just isn't as worth it imo)
    Also I find smokebomb off cd useless since it can be used for the further usage of BS+BH and you burn @ 3:20~ anyway considering you have a lancer (the only "actual" tank :kapp:)
    What is your ping btw? I mean are you using ngsp or pingremover

    • @felt3511
      @felt3511  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      2.0 proc timing is something that no one can control. In this recording it just happened to activate on the LOTW usage but it can proc as early as the 1st hit of DC and the buff will then end as early as after HFA if that happens, which renders the suggestion invalid. In addition, trying to fit in QA chain right there will result in additional delay compared to DC and reverse SF (you have to do something like: QA>CT>QA>RSF to create distance) which will then make it harder to use 3x IB in IH and fit in the 3rd IB + 2nd HBH before brooch expires, so I think it is not worth having a weaker 2nd HBH cast potentially just to try fit in a QA within 2.0 proc when the proc timing itself is an uncertain factor.
      Smokebomb have to be used almost off cd if the ninja plans to use IH off cd as well or else the timing of the IH and smokebomb wouldn't fit. 5:00 fight duration CAHM encounters are pretty common nowadays and with that kind of fight timing, using IH and smoke off CD yields higher DPS (CD of IH is roughly 2:25). If the nature of the fight is such that it is better for the ninja to use IH at the 3:05 mark to sync with GS/AR (which is the timing if lancer weapon swaps), then what you suggested will be better indeed.
      10 ping without any skill emulation script.

    • @wishiwasoriginal
      @wishiwasoriginal 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@felt3511 See no problem with fitting everything stated in my comment, in addition, your HBH is easy to fit into brooch if u pop it right after cancelling IB with smoke. You should consider it, or at least try, bet you could do that easily
      also what I meant is that smoke bomb can be used at either 1:20 / 2:25 (right as when IH is ready), but at least you'll fit full BH and BS into it @ 1:15-25 mark or so, not so sure about the cooldown though.
      kabedon.moongourd.com/eu/upload/3104/1000/1/98836785811408067 there were also runs with over 52 skyfall but lacking double cut which affects power uptime, idk, I personally think it pays off way more

    • @felt3511
      @felt3511  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wishiwasoriginal I can say that it won’t fit, with 100% certainty, unless you play exclusively with a lancer tank. I tailored my setup in the recording to replicate the attack speed that I get from an actual boss encounter with a warrior tank and I only barely managed to fit in the last cast of BS within 2.0 buff, and this is considering that the 2.0 proc at an extremely good timing, neither early nor too late. If I did what you suggested, yes I can fit in QA chain, but no I can’t fit in the last BS cast within 2.0 no matter what and my IB usage will be delayed which snowballs into more DPS loss in the form of either late IB>HBH or HBH without IB to fit that in before brooch buff ends. Using HBH to start off the burn instead of BS brings with it another set of problem revolving having part of your 1st HBH being used to proc 2.0 instead of ensuring that all 18 hits are under the effect of 2.0. This approach only doesn’t make a difference if 2.0 proc early with either DC or IB, but having it proc that early is a bad enough scenario already and it doesn’t make much sense to change the order on the fly just to react to an early 2.0 proc. That’s why you don’t see any other half decent ninja out there start their burn with HBH. All in all, I feel that all this discussion on “fitting in extra stuff within 2.0 buff aside from the main skills” is more of a nitpick rather than something that actually makes any difference at all.
      In the recording, my 2nd smoke bomb was cast right after expending BH and about 10s before my next BS is available. Delaying 10s more will make it not sync with the IH at the end. Saving smoke for 10s just to boost out-of-burn BS and as a result, having no smoke boost for the 1st part of the next IH is DPS loss rather than a gain.
      The ninja in the moongourd log that you linked is probably the best ninja player around with high hpms in every skill. But in a 5mins fight, he only had 2 usages of IH. The implication is that it’s natural for him to have high 48 SF hpm and 29 BH hpm because the longer the time you spent out of IH, the higher will be the SF/BH hpm because you don’t have to prioritize putting HBH/HFA on CD and end up not using SF even though it is available. Normal BH casts can’t be used in IH as well which explains the high hpm.

    • @wishiwasoriginal
      @wishiwasoriginal 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@felt3511 The thing is that it's me in the log and since the transfer to eu I am forced to use pingremover/sp cause I wont be able to perform well with my 50 ping. You're right about the smokebomb, but my point is that it will come by 2:25 anyway, also you are not using it before casting IH, since you have to 10 BH first into 2 avalanche and only then IH HBH HFA etc
      Also about the skyfall thing, I find it rather random since its either between 48 and 54 with the usage of 3rd IH, thing is that you can not only reverse skyfall but dc+skyfall left/right from the bosses back, which makes u maintain your hpms while not missing anything during IH
      Just my personal thoughts about minmaxing and I might be wrong, idk :)

    • @felt3511
      @felt3511  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wishiwasoriginal I played on NA before with 230 ping. From my experience, only CT > reset QA chain gets affected by ping, other skills remain similar regardless of ping as long as you use something like SP. 2nd IH timing (off CD) can be around 2:30 too assuming human error and boss mechs, so the smoke can be delayed a bit, but it’ll still be a rather tight fit. 10 BH into 2 FA can only happen if you have BH available before using IH. Either that or you delay the IH slightly, so that it’s not strictly 2:25~2:30, but somewhere around 2:35~2:40 instead to wait for BH to go off CD and maximize BH hpm. If I combine this idea with your suggestion on delaying smoke usage, then everything works out well and this is honestly a really good idea as long as the fight duration is not strictly 5:00! It’ll work out well if the fight lasts for around 5:20~5:30. Thanks for making me realize that.
      I think the variance in SF hpm also largely depends on what the boss decides to do which in turn can affect how much damage you’re able to face tank and just DPS without dodging, but 48-54 on Lumikan is already extremely top tier and not many players can achieve that consistently. And yeah I’m aware that DC/SF to the side works too, but I’m not accustomed to pressing side keys + SF so if I have to do that, I tilt the camera to the side instead. I also found out that all 3 hits of SF can be registered as long as your character is in close melee range of the boss, so it shouldn’t be that much different from attacking to the side compared to the back.
      Thanks for your input, it made me realize stuffs that I didn’t consider before.

      I tweaked the FoV because default FoV gives me dizziness even at max setting, other than that:
      - FPS Utilities because my budget PC is 6 years old and stutters easily in combat
      - Anti Body block because getting body blocked by party members in boss fights is honestly a bad game design
      - TCC to track CDs of mount buffs, not really needed but nice information to have
      - Custom S1Engine to remove unnecessary effects and further improve FPS
      Rather than saying that these are exploits, I view them as tools to circumvent the flaws in the design of the game that majority of the community make use of as well.

      Comparing raw DPS output defeats the purpose of this rotation video due to gear/stat differences among other factors. The point of this video is to showcase, as a general example, on how to execute Ninja rotations as flawlessly and smoothly as possible and what kind of HPMs could be achieved by the end of it.

      @@ophelix3473 Your party is fine, I think the issue is with the way you approached the encounter. You should be getting around mid 70s boomerang and mid 20s bh hpm as compared to only 48 and 16. Melee skills hpm can be slightly higher too. 20m and beyond won’t be an issue as long as you can improve on BS and BH alone.
      As a TERA player, you should be able to roughly have a feel of whether you’re doing good or not while the fight is happening. If you feel like the fight and your rotations aren’t fluid, or that there are moments of hesitation or times when you aren’t sure of what to do next, then the resulting log won’t be great as well even without looking at the meter.

    • @felt3511

      CS as in Circles of Steels right? I don't think there was any buff to this skill in recent patches (correct my if I'm wrong), so this skill still remains subpar for good reasons.
      To include this skill into the rotation, you'd have to invest 4-9 glyph points to make it barely viable. Add to the fact that it has low crit rate and that the bulk of the damage output of this skill is loaded into the last hit and not evenly distributed. So if the last hit does not crit or you have to cancel the skill early, you'd wasted time that could have been made use of to fit in one more high damage Skyfall instead. This skill will never be good enough to worth considering unless the developer buff its crit rate. That's what I think at least.

OF coz CS is the least prioritized . just slightly higher than LOTW and Auto... :)

      @@f4f0035 Lumikan Normal Mode is almost as sandbag as Training Ground Crab. A good ninja player like 161 can certainly push for roughly 10 more SF and 15 more QA hpm by playing the Skyfall method almost flawlessly. Based on this expectation and his Shinra meter image, we can roughly calculate the projected net gain/loss in DPS as follow:
      Average damage gained from CoS per minute= 3.649m * 29.59= 107.97391m
      Projected damage loss from 10 less SF hpm per minute= 8.377m * 10= 83.77m
      Projected damage loss from 15 less QA hpm per minute= 4.952m * 15= 74.28m
      Total projected average damage loss per minute= 107.97391m - 83.77m - 74.28m= -50.07609m
      That translates to roughly 835k overall DPS loss.
      The above rough calculation also exclude potential DPS loss from glyph points investment to make CoS work and potential DPS loss from lesser DC hpm. Even without making calculations, if the community is being asked whether is it worth investing 9 glyph points into a skill that has 50% crit rate and has only 4-6% total DPS contribution, I'm confident that the general consensus will be that it is not worth it at all.
