From the text book I'm using they said that if it's triple space you key the enter keys 3 times.
For double space press the enter keys twice and for single space press the enter keys once.
I wondering if it's correct

It is correct. It just means that when you key the enter key three time you will start typing where you stop on the third enter key. So you will have 2 spaces between text. Likewise for double you press the enter key twice but start typing where you stopped at the second enter that you made. So you will have 1 space between texts and so on.
