The fact that he hit 300 in 955 games means he almost has a home run every 3 games throughout his entire career. Since the start of the 2022 season, Judge has played 385 games and hit 143 HR, which comes to 1 HR every 2.69 games played. This makes his HR/162 rate over that stretch 60.22

    Here's some interesting nuggets.
Judge is hitting .333 with a 1.178 OPS and a .467 OBP, .703 SLG, 43 HR and 110 RBIs in modern baseball.
Guys like Pujols, Manny Ramirez, A Rod have done similar stuff. But check this out.
    Pujols' peak was around 2008.
2008 MLB average batting average: .264
2008 MLB average strikeouts per 9 innings: 6.4
2008 average fastball velocity: 91.7 mph
A Rod with the Rangers was hitting 50+ homers and 150 RBIs in 2003/2004.
    2004 average batting average: .267
    2004 average strikeouts per 9: 6.4.
2004 average fastball velo: 89.5 mph.
Judge is doing this in modern times.
    Today's average batting average? .248.
    Today's average strikeouts per 9? 8.9!
Today's average fastball velo? 94.1 mph.

Just read interesting stats on Judge vs the 28 players who reached 500 home runs.
While he is the earliest to reach 300 homers based on games played, he's 32 years old. Of all the 28 players who hit 500 homers, every player was 22 years old or younger when they hit the majors (8 were teenagers). Judge was 24 years 3 months old when he made his debut, languishing for over 3 years in the minors.
As a lifelong Yankee fan, fans have always complained that management either traded away young prospects or kept them too long in the minors while playing overpriced free agents.
So while Judge very well could reach 500 homers, he'll likely do it at a later age than most other sluggers. And hopefully stay healthy.

    • @LordDonnington725
      @LordDonnington725 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

if he stays healthy and plays till he is 40 like his contact entails, and continues to hit 40-50 homeruns every year, could be looking at the new homeruns leader. Those are all very very big ifs though.

make excuses for him not having 1,000 hits by 32 yrs old too.....make excuses for him never having a sac bunt too..... maybe 1 excuse for never hitting more than 28 doubles in a season or having only 5 career triples.

@@LordDonnington725 Yes, too many big ifs. Specially hitting 40-50 HRs when is around 40. The only one able to do that was on PEDs. He may also become a problem in the lineup as he is prone to strikeout and his average in general is not that high. So, I see him when he is like 38 hitting .225 with 25-30 HRs and 175 strikeouts. We saw it with Pujols and Miggy. Average and power both went down.

      I show you a few of dakine….

#1 Joe Sewell…. in 1932 season Joey hit 11 HRs and only struck out 3 times all year…
thats nearly 4 HRs for every SO, and he was a little tiny guy playing in huge Old Yankee Stadium….

#2. Larry Berra…. The Yogi had 6 different season with more Home Runs than Strike Outs, and he played Catcher in Old huge Yankee Stadium…in 1950 he had 28 HRs and only 12 SOs

#3. Joe DiMaggio… for his career, he averaged a SO for every HR he hit….no ones is close to this…

#4. George Herman Ruth …in 1920 George hit more HRs than every single team in MLB, except the Phillies.. the Phillies that year hit 5 more HRs than George did.

Wild stat: players at yankee stadium this year hit home runs 20% more frequently than MLB average. Players at SF hit 20% less frequently than MLB average. Really would have loved to see Bonds as a yankee in his prime dude coulda hit 90 HR (not taking anything away from Judge the pitching he’s facing is much better)
