I always enjoy your videos. They have this calm vibe of "just doing it for the love of it" that I find inspiring, whenever I start thinking that my hobbies need to lead somewhere in particular simply because I'm not 20 anymore.
Focus and execution!!!! Attention to the details!!! Recipes for success. Thank you for the video. Amazing progress. You’re obviously listening to your own advice.
Great video and very nice effort with the cinematic cuts at the beginning. Not only is your skating improving but your editing and filming techniques are clearly improving as well. Thanks for sharing the chill (literally) skate session. Happy holidays Sarah :)
ahh thank you! I've been feeling the urge to practice my camera, editing skills lately 😃 I feel like I've learned a lot while doing these TH-cam videos, but rarely practice those skills. So, glad you enjoyed it! And Happy Holidays!
Hey Sarah, I've been watching your vids since I started skating at 35 (last summer), they've been inspiring me since! I tried nocomply impossibles but only did them stationary. I'm also a out-in-the-cold skater 😂
When you mentioned your sprained thumb I immediately thought of the pain I am experiencing trying to learn the tiger claw on my longboard... I wear wrist protections but they only make the "claw" more difficult and they do not prevent my fingers from getting hurt when i fail to grasp the board properly 😢
yeah, it's hard to do finger flips and truck tricks with the wrist guard on for sure. But it does take the pressure off of my thumb when I fall...so, I'm sticking with them for a while still 🥲
@SarahParkMatott I started longboarding last year at 51 and in the first month i fell and broke my wrist - i had protection but cheap ones... I haven't stopped but now I am wearing the most expensive protections available, including padded shorts 😂. I am learning some tricks on my normal setup and also skating bowls and pump tracks with a different carvy setup. I still fall quite often but it's ok as long as i do not get injured! Except my fingers at the moment, 'coz longboards are heavy! 😬
What beautiful pictures and such a wholesome video. That's exactly what I need in winter to get through the bad weather. I'm slowly getting better at finger skateboarding. Keep up the good work and may 2025 bring you good health and success in all your projects.
Hi Sarah, thank you for your videos! They have given me motivation an a new perspective multiple times :) Could you please do a tutorial on that rail varial flip? I would love to learn that trick, but I hardly find any useful tutorials online. Also, do you need a freestyle board for that? I only have a normal skateboard. Thank you and greetings from Germany ☺
I do have this video that might help 🙏 I know Mike Osterman or the Waltz Skateboarding channel also already have a few tips on them available now. th-cam.com/video/o1RuiCxl5FM/w-d-xo.html And a freestyle board really does make rail flips in particular easier, but you can start on a regular board. It is harder though, I think. Greetings to you out in Germany though 😃
ahh I wish this was the weather now haha this was filmed in early November. I've been putting out the videos slowly to help get through the cold, snowy months. We've actually gotten a ton of snow this year compared to last year
@@SarahParkMatott Ahh I see. Unrelated, your video last year inspired me to buy a snowskate, so if you ever want to pivot to snowskate tutorials over the winter I'd be here for it!
@@TheRossIsCookin haha my snow skate skills are definitely at the bottom of my skate repertoire, but if we get more snow, I'll have to take mine out for sure
Wow es nollie 360 shove it o es de fake? Wow, donde puedo comprar un skate de freestyle, ahorita vine de viaje a dallas texas y me encantaría ver si hay lugares donde pueda comprar una
Primo flip to primo at 10:03 is UNREAL! 👏👏👏🏆

A very intellectual approach to skateboarding!

ahhh out-in-the-cold skating 🥶 glad you're still getting out!
Thanks again for your videos, you have come a long way! Happy New Year! 🎉🎉
thank you! Happy New Year 🥳
Insightful as always Sarah. Snow has me grounded up here. Hope you still have dry patches to skate!

Use thick gloves
Working out with calisthenics has really helped my skating probably as much or more than time spent on board

Thank you Daniel!! Wishing you a wonderful 2025 as well 🙏
I think those are the same shoes I have, ‘92 skate half cabs in taupe, all suede
Yours might be a bit darker like sand or something
nice video Sarah! what shoes you rocking? good insight into trick break down im going to try apply it to some bits im struggling with!
yes 😂 haha the half cabs!
The only thing I appreciate in winter is that you wear so much clothes that it doesn’t hurt too much when you crash. 😅
Very cool 😎
Bestie so glad I found you

Was this filmed recently? Amazed you don't have snow yet.
