I've been working on this one for years and my favorite style is to be able to do this one first before the other. The longer you can lag the second foot onto the board the more steezy this will look 😊
The golden rule of skateboarding: everything is jumping. What an excellent explanation. I really missed your tutorials. You can break things down so well into really understandable units. A real gift. Thank you for all your effort and as always I'm really looking forward to your next video. Keep it up and stay the way you are, wonderful
ah thank you so much Daniel! My current goal is to slow down a little, but continue with tutorials and updating a lot of them. Always appreciate your support! Will keep doing my best too 💪
Practiced this with my daughter last sunday. We were racing at home, skate versus her little bike. No match for now! Would have loved to see this beforehand. Scary at the end of the session, I could not visualise me doing it in a safe way. Clear tutorial as always, thanks. Skate is definitely a journey!
Pretty much the exact set of steps I used learning this. That little aside about getting your front foot on before the board hits the ground is super useful too. Since the board has a tendency to bounce when you drop it on the pavement, it can end up nudging the board off center which isnt particularly fun when you're a beginner trying to jump on a moving deck... Getting your foot on first is so much more stable.
Nice tutorial! I built confidence to step on a moving object by escalators. Each time stepped on it by a small hop and I tried to hold my balance on that foot while the escalator was moving. It's silly but worked to me.
this is about where im at cause i am a good rider cruising for years now dabbling in tricks -adult beginner) i just learned like a running caveman like this but think i prefer the caveman because you can avoid razortail
side note. I mostly practice with old school deck which is a bit wider and flatter than a popsicle. Landing on popsicle nose or tail is definitely a concern with any jumping tricks. i dont want to use a popsicle unless i want to do kick flips or something in a land far far away. id recommend old shapes for beginners flat is safer i feel.
Great video! It would be so amazing if you posted with your videos what board you are riding - I have been looking for this board since I first saw the video! Would love to know the board and set up! Hope your wrist is OK!
Ah, I have so many different boards haha I am always changing them, but happy to answer. Daniel is right about the board. It's the 8.06" wide version with the "true fit" wheelbase which was 13.88 inches
If I can think of any steps I'd add that aren't already in this video and my caveman one. I plan on updating that eventually though, and will add a walking/running section this time 😃
When you jump in the board in step one, where do you put the foot you jump off of? Behind the board, to the side the foot is on or the the opposite side?
It's something we all don't even remember learning honestly and we can all do with muscle memory. Then when you try do it switch it feels soooo wrong lmao.
Oh ok it think it looks familiar because I saw you introduce the board a while back in a past video. Yes its good dlx wood. Enjoy and rip the streets on it.
I wonder how someone who pushes mongo would do this? I don't think I've ever seen it, I guess they would throwdown with the opposite hand? As it is kind of a push
@@thejoe69 I like to push mongo. And I started throwing it down with my right hand. But I am left handed and driving regular. When I started skateboarding I taught it myself. And didn’t know going mongo is a bad thing. 😅
I'm not sure, but I know it's possible. There was a skater in the 90s (I think) who learned by pushing mongo, but then even after he corrected to a "regular" push, they said he would throw down mongo if he really really wanted to maximize speed. I can't remember who it was, but I saw the clips once of him throwing down mongo in a street part and thought it was really interesting
you are one of the best content creators for breaking down tricks. Thank you!
You made a short video about this a couple years ago, and that's how I learned! Now I can do it regular and switch 😄
I've been working on this one for years and my favorite style is to be able to do this one first before the other. The longer you can lag the second foot onto the board the more steezy this will look 😊
I love your breakdowns, especially of things that would be considered "basic" when in actuality there's so much skill involed in these basics.

Another essential skill covered beautifully and in detail by your wonderful self ❤ thanks again Sarah 👍👊🛹💯

Great tips! Also, for some reason those half cabs look 🔥 on you, like better than anyone else I've ever seen rock them!

Thank you! I know you’ve covered this before, but I appreciate the added details
Love your videos man, your helping alot of people!!

Don't forget that as you drop ur board down to kick the tail so it shoots out way ahead of you and you trip and fall! 😅
Yooo!! Nano cubic, venture combo enjoyers here😎🔥
Didn’t expect a tutorial from you in 2024!
haha hopefully many more to come 😂
Once again, we have the same deck! lol i snapped a couple weeks ago though ❤️
oh no 🫠 sorry to hear it snapped!
@ always land bolts! lol
I’ve actually watched your old video a bunch of times but still struggle at these
I need to get better at jumps
you'll get there 💪

There Skateboards are cool. It's a good vibe Company. There Videos are great too, but not as good as Sarahs
Can you make a video on a running caveman ?
I plan on updating the original caveman tutorial that I have sometime when I can and will add a walking/running section this time 😃
@ wow, thank you 🤩
@@SarahParkMatottthis is awesome thanks so much. you have helped me tremendously as someone who skated alone most the time.
Could you make a running caveman tutorial?🙏🏼That thing looks scary, and I know you can make it look easy to learn
If I can think of any steps I'd add that aren't already in this video and my caveman one. I plan on updating that eventually though, and will add a walking/running section this time 😃
I have the exact same shoes and deck!
What’s the deck?

I normally am standing a little bit to the toeside edge of the board. Just like how I would walk onto it or step onto it
OMG WE HAVE THE SAME SHOES

You're looking like a full street styler with those half cabs and popsicle. That board graphic looks familiar. What board brand is that?
haha 😂 it's a There skateboard 😃

I wonder how this would work with my mongo push. 🤔
