Thank you! I got diagnosed with right hip OA four years ago and left knee OA just recetly. My rheumy said that it is quite usual the knee OA follows the hip OA diagnosis because one tries to alleviate the pain by overusing the other half of the body. I am glad to know that basically out of the many options you listed only weight loss seems to be an effective treatment. Outside of a total replacement ofc.
I would also add that my rheumy prescribes me Piascledine and it seems to be really effective for me. The therapy is that I am on it for three months and then 3 months I am off. It is also a natural treatment, unsaponifiable parts of soybean and avocado oil.

Thank you. My question is: What exercises are on/off limits after a hip replacement?

Just had a mri for a sports hernia and the results said The MRI showed findings similar to the ultrasound, where you have a "sports hernia." This MRI shows that you have a moderate amount of wear-and-tear arthritis in the pubic symphysis, where the two pubic bones meet in the middle, along with advanced arthritis in your left hip. What kind of things would you suggest…. Ty

Stage 2 of the hips very debilitating one would think cure all for not being able to walk daily or exercise would be surgery, especially as it starts to wear other parts of the body to cover for muscle imbalances like the knee.

What are your thoughts on focal hip osteoarthritis from having FAI/labral tear? Is there any evidence that it will lead to further cartilage damage and the need for a THR if not surgically corrected? Thank you.

This stuff gets on my nerves...OPINIONS when I want FACTS. I watched a physical therapist advise AGAINST doing leg extensions but u just recommended it??? I was under the impression that many kinesiology experts were already against the leg extension machine even if u have no problems currently. Develops the muscles but is hell on the joints/tendons/ligaments etc. Making it up as u go along. NOT evidence based.

most issues coming from the leg extensions machine is having the bar too far down on your legs. The bar should be more at your ankle and not on top of your feet.

Yes but is still so frustrating for young patients like me that I’m 31 and been dealing with this for many years. all the exercises are boring and easy, like made for 80 years old people. I do a lot of exercises, run, walk, a lot of flexibility but the pain is still there so I’m convinced that hip replacement is the only “solution” if we can call it like that
