  • Welcome back to another Slovenia vlog! Today we are exploring the beauty of the Julian Alps!
    In this video we take 2 short hikes in Triglav National Park.
    First, we did a short 3.5km hike to one of Slovenia's most stunning waterfalls. This short hike is called Slap Kozjak. The hike is right outside of Kobarid and is part of the "Kobarid Historic Trail" that highlights all the major sites in the area. You could consider hiking the historic trail if you wanted something longer!
    The next day we hiked the Tolmin Gorge, also known as Tolminska Korita. It is a gorgeous natural wonder and one of the most popular attractions in the Soča Valley area. This hike should take you no more than 1.5 hours to see all the viewpoints. This hike was a highlight of our time in Slovenia, although we enjoyed every moment we spent in this beautiful country!
    Thanks for watching!

    I have two questions:
    1. How do you fund your travel in general? Do you have any savings? How much time did it take you to save that much? Or you're currently working? What is or was both of your professions?
    2. How much did it cost you this particular trip? Home to home travel, Airbnb, park entry ticket, food, car travel etc (excluding equipments)

    • @SammyandTommy
      @SammyandTommy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Patrik! We saved for about 3 years before we left. Travel is definitely personalized and everyone will have a different budget/expectations. We opted for an average of around $100 a day, some days we were way under and some days we were over. For our entire Slovenia trip over 10-12 days we averaged $101 a day, so we were in budget! We like to stay in cheaper Airbnb’s and spend more money on good food/drinks/entertainment. Everyone’s trip will be different depending on your interests. Please feel free to email us with any other questions or if you want more in depth answers ☺️ thanks so much for watching!!

    Aww yay I walked through Tolmin, but didn't have time to see the gorge. Triglav looks so beautiful I hope I will go back to explore it some more. I even spotted the red & yellow concentric circles at 17:06 which forms part of the E7 European hiking trail that cuts through Slovenia, which I based my hike on. You even went to Kobarid!! If you had carried on along that road to the Italian border that's where I started my hike 😊

    Thanks for not going into that cave without a guide. There's a great reason for it, spelunking can be quite dangerous and you really want the whole kit with you, limestone is always sharpest where your helmet hits it, and if there's no helmet, well...
    Also, you'll need a ball of yarn to unwind, these caves sometimes branch in 3D.

In town Kobarid is well known museum of ww1, which was awarded as a best small museum in Europe. You have to visit it.
