When mob saved the cat, he was deep in thoughts, so thats why he didnt take the rational decision of moving the cat instead of stopping the car. Then he was lifting up his bag when the car was about to hit the kid. Even less time to react. So by reflex he jumped in to save the kid. Mob has always actively refused to use his powers openly, so his reflex was physical rather that psychic
It's funny how, when having to react in a split second, Mob's reflex is not to use his powers, but to physically throw the kid out of the way. He does have a complex against using his powers, after all.

Yeah the last few episodes are considered the "handicapped Mob" arc, originally the mangaka wanted an Isekai arc, but figured he could explore the life of a middle schooler stuck in a wheelchair with a debilitating brain injury.
So. Ever wonder why his school name is Shigeo Kageyama but the show and our mc always goes by Mob? Season 1 explored Mob becoming more a human and allowing himself to grow despite himself. S2 explored Mob using what he learned to teach others and form connections. S3 is a human figuring out what he wants to do with his life, right? One and only one. Enjoy the ride.

To elaborate on the ending of last episode a bit since bo one else seemingly did. That whole montage of that guy in the alien world was wrote after the series had concluded, but the producers liked it so much that they decided to put it there chronologically. That's why that guy still comes off as ill experienced and won't reference the encounter so much.

Like I vague remember the alien episode but this is a total blank after the phone call he makes. It really is like my memory of my previous viewing has been wiped, especially the ending. That said, this show has never done something for no reason.
Maybe i was an exception, but as i teen i still wasn't interested ina girl if we didn't share at least some interests or have the same type of humor, i found a lot of girls attractive but i didn't want to date them cause we had nothing in comon and it just wouldn't work (spoiler alert, i ended up with no one, lol)
