  • Are you ready to trust the next generation with new technology? Dr. Yoram Solomon, author of The Book of Trust, challenges us to consider the importance of trust in the face of new innovation. In his captivating TEDx talk, he reveals how the history of resistance to new technology repeats itself, from Wi-Fi to calculators, and now with the emergence of ChatGPT, an AI-based language model. As many US school districts block it from their networks and Elon Musk calls for a pause in AI development, Dr. Solomon advocates for trusting students with ChatGPT, offering a unique opportunity for education and ethical use of the technology. (edited by ChatGPT) Dr. Solomon is a trust researcher, author, and host of The Trust Show podcast. He published 16 books and more than 300 articles on Trust, Innovation Culture, and Entrepreneurship. He holds a Ph.D. in organization and management, and MBA, a law degree, and an engineering degree. Dr. Solomon is a 2-time TEDx speaker, adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at SMU, former executive, elected official, pilot, and member of the Israeli 25th Airborne Brigade. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

If you let students spend enough time with ChatGPT, they might stop trusting ChatGPT unconditionally. Just trust them.

It depends on what they want to use it for. For example, I used Chat GPT for the description of this TEDx talk... But it's no replacement for good research that allows you to evaluate the credibility of the sources.
