I am sure you will catch other types of fish with this fly , I have not had problems with short strikes , as I fish it slow , the fish tend to suck it in no problem , the mini zonker is soft and they tend not to refuse it .👍🏻🎣🐟

Looks good to me, I’m sure it would catch other fish besides trout as well. Do you notice getting short strikes with such a short shank hook?
