I have a die cast of this and a plastic kit. Both still in the box. But I don't think either of them feature this kind of beautiful detail. Especially the yellow railings on top of the cabin. Great job !

There's actually formulas on how to determine their dimensions based on various factors like bullet weight, ideal velocity, powder type and charge, jacket material, twist rate.....etc etc.. While artillery pieces can often have tall looking slats typically in relation to their bores it's within design. But for something this large it would actually be too intrusive to the round and causing more friction than helping. You'd want it to be just tall enough to swage the round into shape, making a solid seal, and start rotation. But not so tall it actually cuts too deeply into the jacket. After all, if you slow the round down too much the pressure behind it starts to build up even more rapidly and that is a bad situation :)
What you mean you can buy modles of Macross vehicles. I got a 1/72 scale VF-31 Siegfried from Macross Delta. You can also get the Koenig Monster as a modle too.
The knowledge that I can purchase stuff like this does nothing for me. I do not want to learn how to paint like this well. It has to be perfect or it drives me crazy so I will stick with my other...stuff.
I think this was designed in Fusion 360 and 3D printed. I've seen others where they add 3D printed parts to an existing kit but I think this one is from scratch. I wonder if the designer has shared the files to 3D print this?

The monster, somehow so heavy it literally breaks the deck of the macross yet it's MOBILE under earth gravity with a Zenradi riding bareback.
The metal there was obviously corrosive from the space oxygen considering Hikaru was able to space walk in a cloth suit
