Makes me wonder what SIX horns in there would sound like... XD I absolutely feel like I'd need SIX just so all the old mfers where I live could actually hear it and stop driving into my cars. 4 accidents in 5 years, none of them my fault, and one of my cars officially "totalled" in one of those accidents- and the [Prescott Valley, AZ] police department let the woman who caused the accident- that totaled my car -drive away from the scene even though she had (1) a suspended license, (2) no registration (allegedly in her brother's name), and (3) no proof of insurance.
These horns are a basic electronic buzzer. They use an electromagnet and a make and break switch that causes the electromagnet coil to oscillate the horn diaphragm. So there is no eletrical polarity. They can be wired either way.
Hey mate, do you why you need to use a power cable directly to the battery? Can I just only use the existing power cable from the old horn? and not use an extra cable directly to the battery + ?
Why do you need another relay when there is already one in the fuse box? Couldn't you avoid connecting directly to the battery and needing another fuse by using the relay already in the car?
Hey mate! did you installed yours already? do you know why you need to use a power cable directly to the battery? Can I just only use the existing power cable from the old horn? and not use an extra cable directly to the battery + ?
Sir i made it. Followed your instructions and i had no trouble installing the horns. I went with the hella supertone (red)! Also just had to remove all screws of the bumper coz for some reason i cant semi-pull the bumper like what you did. But all good! Thanks a lot! Waiting for your next mod!
Just now seeing this comment, looking at the video. I’m pretty sure the cable you are talking about is the ambient temperature sensor that shows the outside temperature in the car. Mine looked like it was unclipped for some reason.
Good video, but why you need to use a power cable directly to the battery? Can I just only use the existing power cable from the old horn? and not use an extra cable directly to the battery + ?
Thank you! The reason I connected it straight to the battery with its own inline fuse, was because the 2 horns draw more power than the stock horn relay and fuse can handle. It is only a recommendation. But if you did hook them up to the factory wiring, may blow a fuse every once in a while.
@BrandonStellmach check it and the fuse is visibly intact. I havent verify the relay that is already included in the car for the og horn , tomorrow I will check it to see if it has correct consistency and activates as it should...
@@arctictruck10 that’s is a good question, I think you would need to find out if they have the same ECU. Because that’s how they tune it. As long as it’s the same I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Best thing to do is message them. And they should be able to help you.
One mod I been wanting to do is get horns from a 2014 (or that generation) Camry because they dont sound all squeeky like the stock horn does. I think all I would need is a Toyota harness to pig tail wires if the original harness doesn't fit, and just wire it up. T the wires to account for the second horn and I should be set.
Great video! Another DIY project for me coming up! When you cut the old connector, the remaining wire connection is the one you use to power up the horns? Red wire to res of the harness and then black wire just ground it? Thanks sir!
The bolt came from a random bin I have with miscellaneous bolts and nuts. But If you take the original one to the hardware store it should be the same exact one!
That’s awesome! I’m glad you been liking the Camry content, I know I need to post more Camry content, but I’ve gotten the Camry pretty much where I want it. But I will always try to find more things for the Camry!
Cool video, I do like the yellow accent! A suggestion that I have for you is that if you decide to make a ‘3D prints pt 2’ video, you could 3d print a longer mount for the horns so that the horns can be lower, like how you mentioned in the video.
Sir i saw a PIAA supernass h0rn install video and he didnt used any relay for the two h0rns, just a wiring adapter. Can i do the same with the hella horn? The car was a 2020 corolla
I Have seen people do it that way as well, much less wiring, but the reason why they wire it with a relay to the battery is because the 2 horns draw more power than the stock horn. I guess it’s more of a safety thing, so you don’t blow any fuses.
It’s a nice upgrade. I mean it’s more visual Then anything. But they are louder! And I was wondering the same thing. I don’t think they are, but I would need to hear them side by side to actually compare.
I was thinking about getting the 10.5 gen S steering wheel, which has the D shape, but I didn’t like it because it’s not leather, it’s just some type of rubber. But that’s why I upgraded to the S steering wheel from the 2009 corolla, because it’s leather wrapped!

Just finished replacing horn on my Corolla. Thanks to you, took me less than 2 hours with some trial and error
I’m glad the video helped out! 👍
I've been meaning to replace my horn for awhile. This video couldn't have come at a better time

Hey mate, do you why you need to use a power cable directly to the battery? Can I just only use the existing power cable from the old horn? and not use an extra cable directly to the battery + ?
@@lios8886the only reason I did it directly to the battery is because the fuse and wiring is not rated for the new amperage for the updated horns.
Why do you need another relay when there is already one in the fuse box? Couldn't you avoid connecting directly to the battery and needing another fuse by using the relay already in the car?
From what I have read about this, the 2 horns will draw much more power from the car, which may over load the circuit and cause the fuse to blow.

I did everything in the video with the same materials etc but I still cannot make them work. Do you think the problem might be in the steering wheel?
That is strange, I would double check the fuse is good under hood for the horn.
