So Mr Brown got in front of the camera on this day. (Which means that you were probably BEHIND the camera.) He did a great job with the Tue. tip. I'm afraid the theme of this video is not one that is in my wheelhouse, but I've gotta tell you...I watched the whole thing through, hoping to get a good glimpse of the handsome rooster. And there WERE several shots that panned across him. I just can't get over that! I've never seen anything like it in my life! Just unreal! Just another small way that God displays his creativity and handiwork. God bless.

You made me think of my grandpa & his farm!!! Now I barter with a farmer with my jams & jellies for fresh eggs. Its nice to be able to barter with other local homesteaders here. I will surely remember this if I am ever able to have my own chickens OMG that I would love Have a great day Lori XOXO Luvs ya ~Tina

Good tip. They love them, too. And some of them fall into cracks between rocks and will grow another sunflower plant.

Great info Mrs. Lori and Mr. Brown. We feed black oil sunflower seeds to ours as a supplement during the cold months and scratch grain containing black oil sunflower seeds during the warm months as a treat.
    Take care,
    Rob

I didn't know that about constipation in chickens fed just seeds - thanks for the tip. If they miss a few seeds you get a double bonus with a new sunflower that has many seeds! Win, Win!

Hi Lori! Mr. Brown ! Thanks for the tip. I usually give my chickens suet with sunflower seeds mixed in and they love it. Plus they have the grit to eat. I also raise meal worms and they get those for a treat too, more in the winter when bugs are scarce. Love ya, Judy

We feed all our chickens black oil almost every day. They also get lots of kitchen waste especially in the winter when forage is slim.

What breed are your chickens, they are beautiful. The roosters are so cute strutting around keeping an eye on their ladies. Typical of males of all species. :-)
