  • After years of repression, the government of Myanmar (Burma) has started to loosen its on grip on society. Now, a once isolated society is finally getting a taste of the outside world and Myanmar's youth are eager to catch up on what they missed. The country’s formerly underground community of skaters is one of these groups. Once forced to buy boards and Tony Hawk video games from the black market, the country’s skate scene is booming. And word of their unique skate culture is spreading across the globe. Join us as we navigate the streets of Myanmar’s capital city with these skaters as they test the waters of a changing cultural scene.

You guys need to promote this channel or sell to a tv channel. Production quality is amazing. I’m hooked to this channel.

The struggles to have to go to the black market to get a damn skateboard. I have to say it sounds pretty badass to work with the black market at age 12.

I think this video is great but cant help but think that the same story told through a different perspective would be criticized as globalization or gentrification. Like how terrible that these people are losing their culture. But they're gaining freedom so good for them

Blame the military intelligence for Yangon not having skaters. That's new.
