My generation was the best and thank to those who brought us good music with their own talent. Wish I had a Time Machine and bring them back. May God. Bless all this Soul brothers were ever they are.
Man please! Only thing *this* dude does even *remotely* as good as TP is sweat. 😂😂 Donnell Gillespie is the only lead they’ve had that comes close to TP
These guys did a great job! Every singer has a great voice and a lot of Soul! I finally got a chance to see Harold Melvin perform the "rap" part on "I Miss You"! I am overjoyed!
Our Doo Wop group, The Dream Tones, opened for this great group when they just started out in Philly. They were great back when they just started and still the greatest after all these years.
Harold Melvin you tried very hard to sound like Teddy, and look like Teddy Harold Melvin, you was better off just being yourself 😉 I could not believe that people thought Teddy pendergrass was you Harold Melvin. No matter how many guys try to sing like Teddy pendergrass. It's going to be a tough act to follow. You have a lot of women who loves tall and dark skin men. I especially if he's a clean cut, kind of Guy. I would think about Him, to being my found Teddy pendergrass 🥰
@@margiestreater5959 When in this concert did Harold Melvin 'try' to sound like Teddy Pendergrass? It appears, at least on this post, that YOU thought Teddy Pendergrass was Harold Melvin, or vice-versa. Harold Melvin isnt confused_____he was the one who hired Teddy in the first place to be a drummer, then as the featured soloist for the group. Harold Melvin has owned this group since the late 50's and knows what he is doing. I'm just saying that I think you are the one is confused as to the roles on the group.
Lord have mercy. Now these were Harold Melvin's Blue Notes. I've gotten more than my money's worth. Thank you again Mr. or Ms. TH-cam Deejay for sending me this one on Martin Luther King's Birthday. The Wake up Everybody is too apropo. It should be every Believers theme song for 2024. I know Insane Ywain would have played this ENTIRE!! performance on his show......Miss you man.
One of the best ever. Like so many other male groups that defined that 70's R&B sound. "Hope we'll be together soon" with Sharon, Teddy and Harold is a masterpiece and the main reason I purchased that album in 1975.
Thank you so much for this beautiful concert of one of my most favorite groups. Mr. Saunders did an incredible job of recreating the sound and as he brought his own unique flavor. Not an easy thing to do while constantly being compared with someone else. Everyone has their own unique voice so he could not be Teddy no more than Teddy could be him. The whole group did exceptionally well in my humble opinion. It was nice that everyone was able to get a little shine. I hope you have more gems like this to post. Thanks again.
These boys threw down, now it goes without saying, no one can do it like Teddy, but this guy is holding his own. What I didn't like was the lighting, why was the background so dark, would have like to see the fellas back there. But overall a helluva show👍🏾
I SAW THE ORIGINAL LINE - UP OF HAROLD & THE BLUE - NOTES IN 2003 AT VICTORY PARK IN SAN JOSE CA . ALONG WITH THE CHI-LITES , DEL - FONICS , STYLISTICS, IT WAS THE 70’S THAT DAY ALRIGHT !!!
the lead singer is David Simmons , he used to sing with " Neo Experience " they did recorded two 45's in 1975-1976 , and he did 3 albums from 1979-2015 , he isn't trying to sound like Teddy Pendergrass , that's how he sounds !!! he's a fantastic singer !!!
The lead singer is as close as you can get to the one and only teddy. The sound the facial expressions and they built the same. The best replacement for teddy.

I just never knew why they were called Harold Melvin and the bluenotes ? When Teddy was the man..🤔
Harold started the group in 1954, and owned the group. Teddy Pendergrass was the featured vocalist. He wasn't the first or the last one . . . .
Because this was Mr. Melvin's life's work

good but not as good
These Blue notes seems to me. are as good as or Better than the Original Blue notes🎶🔥❤️👑🎤💋❤️❤️❤️❤️💋

Considering how controlling and jealous Harold was, he spent his last able years trying to recapture a sound that he was guilty of dismantling.

Will dah real Harold stand up
Philly is a gang banging town
He surely did not look like a Harold, like Teddy.
Odd that Teddy's brakes failed on his vehicle, causing him to end up as a paraplegic. Brakes don't fail on a Rolls Royce.
