Imagine if something was to happen to this planet and we as a people had to start over without all the machines. Not many people would know how to start over from scratch. God bless this man for living truly as he see's fit, and not the way someone else tells him to live.
well when the power grid goes down from a emp or so other event THESE are the folks who know how to survive. Shame of the community planners who tried shut this man down. Instead of harassing this man he should be held up as a hero
I wish I had known about this place when I could walk good. Especially back in 1999 when my two youngest and I traveled to NC. I wouldn't have wanted to leave. We had 700 acres in upstate NY. We did all our farming with draft horses. I enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for sharing.
To me Eustace is a brilliant man and everytime I watch it my heart is right there with him. He's helping to conserve and respect to beautiful land that he has acquired. I only wish he had even more land to care for and enjoy..
I remember taking you on that tour....I am so happy you captured it all on camera. It allows me to look back nostalgically and recapture my memories of my time there. Great job Steve....I hope you are doing well.
I've been following Mr. Conway ways adventures for years but had gotten away from them for a few years, so imagine my good fortune of finding him on TH-cam, where I now seek great programming without commercials. God bless you Mr. Conway.
I have wanted to send a comment to Eustace Conway thanking him for the wonderful work he does And he has such a gentle spirit. I f I was much younger and healthy I would have liked to go to his natrure.school And I felt terrible when they shut down his nature school. We need more places like that to get outside in the fresh air and learn these values and hard work. I want to thank you for making this show and I would have paid for you to buy all the land and trees to keep things as nature intended Unfortunately I am on Social Security on a low income. i am 71 years old and have Congstive heart failure along with other things I am retired and disabled and unable to get out most of the time so your show has meant so much to me I have learned so many things and it is so interesting. So thank you for all you do and to Preston and the ones who sang the Tribute to you You have made a wonderful difference in our and touched so many lives. Thank you again, April
Mr.Conway I have watched for years on mountain men. There are so few people that know how to live off the land and take care of their family by farming and planting. He has fought so hard for his land. God bless him for doing it his way.
You did a fine job of showing folks the lovely and simple life that can be had with a dream a lot of hard work. Thanks for the trip................Ross
We live just a few miles away. We will have to go out there. This world needs a lot more people made of the same environmental consciousness and willing to work, as Eustice.
Thank you all for the great comments but I would like to respond to the comment left by "GodSaid." Yes, it is absolutely a fact that having mice in your home will and does spread disease (plague, hantavirus, lyme disease etc...) however, I would much rather have snakes in my house eating the rodents than have the rodents in my house eating my food and spreading disease. Snake stomach acids are very powerful and destroy almost all pathogens carried in/on the rodents and/or in the parasites on/inside them so there is a very slim chance that you will get a disease from snake droppings. Also, since snakes do not defecate in your food (unless it is a random accident) as rodents do, or as often as rodents--which defecate constantly and everywhere--therefore the chances of getting sick from snake droppings are next to none. Snakes are here for a reason and are part of a healthy Earth and healthy humans and we need to accept them and respect them for the important role they play in the web of life on Earth.
We had a resident snake in our barn growing up, he kept the mice out of our feed. I can still see him laying across the rafters in the barn, he must have been 6' long. My grandfather would give us a wiping if we bothered it. Nature has a way of protecting itself, a lost art. We had the best vegetables, eggs, chicken, pork, etc. We used the manure from the barn to fertilize our fields, nothing was wasted.
Earthshine Nature Programs Yep, and snakes tend to stay on the ground, where our food is not...or climbing up a bush. Mice always find a way to poop in our cereal boxes.
Carrie Geren Scoggins [Official] Are you asking about Eustace’s accent? I went to college with him at Appalachian State University. That’s just how he speaks. There’s nothing fake about him.
I love Eustace. I think he is such a smart man. I watch the Mountain Men show and I live not to far from Turtle Island, here in North Carolina. I would love to visit. I really enjoy that he keeps the "natural" living lifestyle ALIVE. I too am adopting the natural lifestyle and I am starting homesteading this spring. I'm preparing my chicken coops now. I do have a question though..... I saw mayo out on the counter for the deviled eggs. Where does Eustace and the others store their perishable goods without electricity. And couldn't they make their own? Thank you so much for your video. I love this lifestyle and I hope that others will try to become more in tune with nature and not the oh so busy life society has adopted now. Thanks -Dollie!
I know this video is 7 yrs old,but it is still inspiring. What a beautiful untouched place this is.So peaceful and calming to see. There's always someone who cannot stand to let others live happily.Hard work, determination and love of the land.God bless you Eustace.
I watched the mountain men series and I liked Eustace. he really seemed to be genuine and I liked his attitude toward natural living. I really wish someone would show him the Back to Eden gardening video. He is one of the people I would think would really benefit. it is all about natural gardening and is almost maintenance free... Great video, thanks for sharing.

A beautiful place and a great video thank you. The more projects and people I see living out in nature and off grid like this inspires me more and more to do it myself. One day!
This is by far the best way to live, that's why so many years ago they survived a lot longer then we do now. To much smog and crap in the air to breathe normally. Thank you for sharing this video and allowing us to see how they live. I watch the mountain men too and I always wanted to see the rest of his land.. Thank you again
Anybody that lives off the grit posses a threat to the government and developers. Mr. Conway is one of the few true naturalist. Many of us dream to be free and be one with nature. The older I get the more I want to be free from the government.
Eustance Conway is a guy who wants everyone to know how to survive in case we all get shut down. And it is coming and many will not survive, heck no electric but wood stove comes in handy. The government came down on Turtle Island over revenue. We have Corporate Fiction masquerading as government. The Federal Union Incorporated in 1871, the 14th amendment created a Corporate Citizen of State Citizens. The 14th amendment was never ratified by Congress or signed by Andrew Johnson. All governments are a franchise of the Federal Corporation, State, County and City. Look behind the head of any judge and you will see their corporate seal. They won't let Eustace not pay into the system. No sales tax, property tax, building permits, etc. Why would they come down on one man? They are afraid he will set a precedent and others will follow. We have become tax slaves. The Corporations pay their employees well and have good benefits so they will come down on Eustace to keep their jobs. FREEDOM?
I grew up in the late 60s and 70s and this is the type of work we did I started work at 13 minimum wage was $1.10 per hour so I made $21 a week working after school on the weekend we were not allowed to work more than 20 hours a week as kids until age 16, I loved and now miss it
Thanks for this video. I had contacted them after seeing the first season of mtn men, looking to try to help in some way. Sure wish we could visit, I think it is so important what Eustace is teaching people, these are skills that people NEED to know. Much like the amish where I grew up.
GOD BLESS EUSTACE AND OTHERS LIKE HIM...YA HAVE TO BE STRONG ,SMART,AND COMMITTED TO LIVE THIS BEAUTIFUL LIFE...MUST BE DEVOTED TO THE LAND,AND TO NATURE..IF THIS OL' COUNTRY BOY WAS STILL HEALTHY,THIS IS HOW I'D LIKE TO LIVE....GOD'S POWER BE AMONG ALL OF YOU AT TURTLE ISLAND....JDA
This is the kind of Magical Place were people with family who love the out door kind of life like to come and this brilliant man has built this beautiful wonderland and he has created this place for kids to learn how to survive out doors in the forest" they grow their own fresh foods like Apples and they've got Sheep / Goats for Milk and Cheese / Yogurt.. Kids love these places because they can learn a lot in this great place so fight for these people to carry on what there doing for young and old people alike.. God bless these people and God bless the guy who owns this fantastic land..
Wow, you guys are livin' high on the hog, the way mother nature always intended us to live, wish I could live like that as well, but sadly it is like living museum to remind us how our ancestors used to live.
Wow its amazing all of that land and buildings how their totally self sufficient. I use to live on 32acres of land back at Belmont Ohio and watching this video reminds me of my old home and I wish I met Mr. Conway to learn from him how to do the things that he and his family dose so that I had never left my old home.
I would love to come and go through some of your courses. Sadly work keeps me busy. I am a first generation hunter, trapper, and my wife and I are striving to be self reliant. Any pointers you can give and how much does it cost to take some of your classes. Thanks for your time.
I like how when he said “the dogs are like gimme some of that delicious goat milk!” As the guys milking it. Then the camera pans to the dogs looking in the opposite direction, not paying attention to the goat at all. lol.
I would Love to come and check this out. I'm going through a buch of crap. been molested from 2nd grade to 4th grade and from 7th to 9th grade. been married since 1982 been together since 1979 he's beening mentally and emotional abusive. I can't live like this no more. this would be great experience for me. if you write back do it in a Facebook personal message so no one nows. I need change and this would be so mentally good for me. thank you for sharing this.
I'd love to visit Turtle Island Reserve. Life is about working so I don't think I'd worry there. However, I pictured myself running out of one of the beautiful cabins, in the middle of the night worrying about the black snake that was sleeping beside me. Lol. Probably just stay outside under the 🌟
I actually got to go to @TurtleIslandPreserve. The Most Beautiful Place, and the I had the Best time. They are the Best People You could Ever Meet, and Eustace is the Best living the Dream
I did really enjoy the video. It would have been much better if we could have heard what the lady was saying who was giving the tour. Perhaps you can give her a microphone next time or figure out someway so her comments can be heard. Otherwise excellent information. Didn't really see much in operation during your tour though.
Seriously fascinating commune with nature and the lifestyle of the early settlers. I have always wanted to return to this lifestyle but alas I am now to old. Good luck with the government!
Thank you for this! In my closest held dream , this is similar to what I would want to build--altered to fit a temperate rainforest in Alaska of course haha!
Imagine if something was to happen to this planet and we as a people had to start over without all the machines. Not many people would know how to start over from scratch. God bless this man for living truly as he see's fit, and not the way someone else tells him to live.
You mean have to live off the grid?..We'd be lost and they know it.
you are so very right TheNum 1 lover !!!
Full of admiration for Eustace and his Turtle island project. Looks like an amazing place to live.
I have actually spoke with Mr. Conway and i am so glad you did this video and showed us what it looks like and is like its amazing.

My parents raised us similar. We had electricity, etc, but we lived entirely off the land. There was no obesity and very little sickness.

I would love to come and go through some of your courses. Sadly work keeps me busy. I am a first generation hunter, trapper, and my wife and I are striving to be self reliant. Any pointers you can give and how much does it cost to take some of your classes. Thanks for your time.
This is awesome! My grand parents lived there just like that!
Wow what an awesome vid wow wow wow just wow
I would never want to leave!
I think I saw lobster on ice on the shelf in the outdoor kitchen.. You clever man Eustace..
Loved this video! :)
Love it. But on the other hand I'm wondering why they use a log splitter instead of an axe while using horses to mow lawn rather than a power mower
EXCELLENT video!! Thank you for sharing this. I would love to go to Turtle Island and meet Eustace, do a little blacksmith work :)
I like how when he said “the dogs are like gimme some of that delicious goat milk!” As the guys milking it. Then the camera pans to the dogs looking in the opposite direction, not paying attention to the goat at all. lol.
It's on my bucket list. First on my list was Italy. 2nd is Turtle Island. See you all soon!

Eustace has A way of life that is in his blood and soul he is Turtle Island Preserve..
Very nice video
I did really enjoy the video. It would have been much better if we could have heard what the lady was saying who was giving the tour. Perhaps you can give her a microphone next time or figure out someway so her comments can be heard. Otherwise excellent information. Didn't really see much in operation during your tour though.
Love the vídeo, an love how kind they aré.
Seriously fascinating commune with nature and the lifestyle of the early settlers. I have always wanted to return to this lifestyle but alas I am now to old. Good luck with the government!
Last few minutes of you playing the Digi was awesome! Cheers
Ok, what do you use for showers..the river? And what about during the winter? Just curious if they only take dips in the summertime , lol!
Awesome place!
Thank you for this! In my closest held dream , this is similar to what I would want to build--altered to fit a temperate rainforest in Alaska of course haha!
Outstanding!!
Beautiful place
