Stephanie, I love that you are so real. You even make sure to mention those little things that will keep us from having a big mess to clean up afterwards. It's real life baking and I love to bake! But not to clean up... ;)
My favorite part is when you are so obviously enjoying it. I made one at Thanksgiving and today. Wonderful. My family doesn't like the bitter sweet chocolate. So I mix a lot of semi sweet and some milk chocolate. Really a great combination. I never really liked pecan pie. But i love the addition of the chocolate. It's like eating a candy bar with all my favorite things. Chocolate, pecan and a caramel. YUMMY
I couldn't resist making this for Boxing Day (26th December) - four guests two slices each, one slice left, and that after two previous courses. So I think it has to be reckoned a great success!
Hi! U love all your videos and J was wondering if you could do a video talking about your stand mixer and food processor and where.you bought them, not everyone can afford a kitchenaid (:
Hi Stephanie, I am a huge fan of your videos, everything you make turns out perfect! I am going to attempt this pie for Thanksgiving this year but I'm worried about the crust failing because this is my first pie. I would much rather make your recipe than buy pie crust, so do you have any basic tips I need to know for making the perfect pie crust? Thanks :)
If I had a kitchen like yours I would be more inspired to bake. I don't have a big island like that. I have small counter with big cabinets over them and the light in my kitchens sucks too! I do really love this recipe and I love pecan pie but I think I like this more
Ooh that does look tasty!! I'd love to make this for Christmas! I have one question though. I'd like to make it sugar-free, if possible. Could I use natural sweeteners like xylitol in the pastry and the filling? I'd also like to use a very dark no added sugar chocolate. Do you know if this would work?
Luvly recipies, luvly presentation, luv u mam....n I wnt to know that wats the real price of ur Nikon D 70000 ....its not a ryt place for ask this ....but sorry....I hope u giv a reply...thnku
Hi Stephanie! I have some trouble finding corn syrup in Italy … What can I use as a replacement? I thought about molasses or maple syrup.... Thanks a lot! Best wishes!
sophia ch. I often use the leftover pastry to make miniature Jam Tarts. If you don't want to fill the pastry shells with jam, you can bake the pastry shells and then fill them with things like lemon curd, chocolate ganache, or even a pastry cream. Here is the link. www.joyofbaking.com/JamTarts.html
Love this video! It MUST taste delicious. But I'm so in love with regular pecan pie that I actually consider chocolate pecan pie almost "wrong," because the chocolate flavor is just so strong that it overshadows and almost ruins the rich pecan flavor. You can taste the chocolate, but it's so strong that you almost can't taste the subtle nuttiness and aroma of pecans. I'm not saying chocolate pecan pie tastes bad or anything, it sure is delicious, but I like plain pecan pie 100000000000 better than chocolate pecan pie (;
Where can I buy Golden Syrup? I live in Ohio. The only place I have found it was at an international market (Australian section) and they wanted $21.00 for a jar of it!! I'd hate to pay that price if I really don't have to. :) This pie looks great!!
Emily S Wow. That's very very expensive. Where I live you can now buy it in a lot of grocery stores or places like Whole Foods. However, at that price I would probably just use corn syrup.

Sounds good.

Stephanie, do you think this would work with around half the sugar?
Hi Stephanie! I have some trouble finding corn syrup in Italy … What can I use as a replacement? I thought about molasses or maple syrup....
Thanks a lot! Best wishes!
Flavio Fiorini You could use golden syrup or I would think you could use maple syrup.
Do you have any tips for reusing the excess pie dough you cut off? For instance, is there a way you can turn them into cookies?

Oh that's really helpful! Thank you very much!
I am going to try it with walnuts. I am guessing it'll work -- there's no way I could find pecans in my country. :)

I made this pie, and it is way too sweet
I asked about a frozen pie shell but, how long if you do a non frozen pie shell...?.my store was out
Do you have a pie crust how to make video ??
Barnali's Kitchen yes we do, here it is: Pie Crust Recipe Demonstration - Joyofbaking.com
Thank you very much...
could you do a vegan version of the melting moments cookies please?

Joy of Baking Yes! Much too expensive for my budget. I'm thinking because it's imported from Australia. Thank you so much Stephanie!! -Emily
TIM W Thank you. I'll be sure to check Amazon!!
Can I use unsweetened chocolate?
+joyofbaking can i directly role the dough. then chill it in the fridge?
Can u deliver me one please!😋
I love u .I vote for u.a I send ur wibsit to m family back home .u ar th best
Can I use honey instead of corn syrup? I can`t find corn syrup where I live...
Dianne MC I've never tried it, but I think honey would be okay.
Joy of Baking Ok , thank you very much!
👍👍👍😋😋😋😋
What machine do you use?
I use a Kenwood Titanium Chef 5 quart mixer.
Everyone says use the microwave in 10 sec bursts. Doesn't anyone know they can reduce the power and not have to worry?
The amount of power doesn't matter. Microwaves don't heat evenly and the chocolate still needs to be stirred to avoid hot spots
What kind of cream ?? Like heavy cream or coffee cream
Lizet Ponce I normally use a coffee cream, but you can use heavy cream.
Thanks ^_^
Anyone know if I can use maple syrup?
I've never tried it, but it should work. Although maple syrup is not as thick as golden syrup, so your filling would not be as firm.
CAN YOU MAKE CORN SYRUP HOME MADE, FROM SCRATCH.?
IgnacioAgramonte not that I know of.
thanks, i think i may be able to do like a syrup with sugar and water then keep boiling for a while.
FIRST COMMENT.....YAYYYY
brandon keller
