To clarify about the figures: Though I've only seen the movie end to end once, I've seen bits of it repeatedly while channel-hopping for the past 40 years now and did look at pages of stills before recording this video. The figures do not do it for me. My brain may be needing more realism than the LEGO format can provide. Whatever it is, not one of them looks close enough to make me, Jang, say "Oh look, that's him!" I completely understand if literally not one soul in the world agrees with me; it's all good 😁
As a Jaws and lego fan who has seen the movie way too many times including last year on IMAX, I kinda agree with you Jang. Quint is probably the best of the three and makes me "see" the character. I get Brody is a pretty generic looking guy lol but still, his hair is darker. And while Hooper's beanie was in a few scenes it's really small, I hope there's an alt hair piece for him too. Nonetheless, very excited for this set.
I’m going to need a bigger screen (not my phone to see if these figures are accurate). But I think they’re pretty close. This would be a fun set to review. There’s so much movie history involved with it.
The figures are pretty spot on, actually. Quint looks great. Brody is much more recognizable with the alternate face with glasses. The Dreyfuss hat is very much part of the character. He doesn’t have it once he’s on the boat but it’s rather recognizable as part of the character overall.
I disagree about the figures. To me they all look like the characters, especially Quint. This entire set is pretty much perfect and I’m definitely gonna have to make a purchase. 😁
I could definitely tell who those figures are even if i hadn't seen this. I watch Jaws annually....and yes, Richard wore that little cap. Oh, this set is GREAT.
Jaws is one of my all-time favorite movies and I was a supporter of this project on the Ideas website from the beginning. I'm so glad it was approved for production and it looks amazing! Can't wait to see it assembled on my shelf!
You've only seen Jaws once! It's definitely worth rewatching as it still holds up well despite the improvement in special effects. Must say, I'm very tempted to buy this - minifigures look great
@@TheRocco96what’s more, the shark didn’t work most of the time which forced them to go for a “less is more” approach and it’s way better than having a giant shark in every scene
What a huge coincidence lol. I rewatched JAWS again this weekend and it’s still one of the best movies ever made imo. And this set looks incredible! I want to pick this up.
A few years ago my local multiplex showed Jaws and it was a sold out performance. It really stood up well and was a great night at the cinema with an audience that was into the movie.
Totally buying this. Not a big fan of the Jaws mouth or teeth but overall this is a really well done set. I actually think the minifigs look good but I understand what you are saying Jang. Great video!
This is easily an all-time set for me, I think it looks perfect! I would love for you to review this as you always go into such good detail and hearing your in-hands thoughts with sets.
Huge Jaws fan. There have been a few comments that the shark doesn’t look right - I think it captured perfectly the look of Bob Mattey’s animatronic shark - complete with the iconically noticeable lower jaw articulation point that makes the shark look somewhat goofy when “chomping”
Jaws is one of my favorite movies, and has been since it originally came out. I was little, but we went to see it multiple times. It's my annual July 4 movie. This is the set that makes it worth me driving 5 hours to my closest LEGO store to get day 1. I sure hope they stock a lot of them.
I've never seen the movie, though I've a few seconds of snippets here and there, and even I like this set! Love the boat, and how the shark detaches from the stand so it can be put into the scene. Very well designed.
First Jang do yourself a favour and watch it again -- its one of Spielberger's best early movies.. I love it and I think they have captured the Mini-Figs well. I like the dynamism of the scene too, and the multiple poses of “Bruce” are a plus. For those of us who know the movie, check out the back of the box. The photo extreme left recreates the USS Indianapolis scene. Yes get this, I would love to see your review. Start saving…
@Jang go back to your video around 1:40 and look at that image where you ask about the eyes. That particular face (looks like head is double-printed) is pretty spot on for the character in the movie.
Yeah maybe it's a good attempt, but though I've only seen the movie straight through once, I've come across it channel hopping and seen stills all my life, and looking at the stills right now side by side with the LEGO figures, I'm just having trouble with them, personally. I think my brain may want more realism than a LEGO figure can deliver.
You will have to buy this amazing set and do a review on it too. Buy one for me too. A must own set for any true Spielberg fan and Lego reviewer. Do it.
Jang probably the best reviewer out there, but I was thinking those figures really do look like the characters as well as a lego minifigure format can. Quint, Brody and Hooper instantly recognisable even without the context of a jaws set being reviewed.
I think it would have been good if the stand for the shark was the mechanical structure the film shark (Bruce) had. A Spielberg mini fig for that stand too, if we're wishing!
If you look at the back of the box, it seems like the display stand has the shark tail built INTO it, and the head has some kind of quick release to swap from the diorama to the display
I think this is one of the least changed ideas sets from Concept to build. The biggest change is the stand and a slight retooling of the boat in different colours (but it’s roughly the same shape) the shark almost looks identical!
I’ve seen the movie multiple times lately. And I personally think the figs look great. Chief Brody is the weakest of the 3 but I’m very happy with the figs. Day 1 buy for me!!
I would welcome your review of this set, your perspective is always valuable, and your videos are always enjoyable. (Also, I too think the figures are pretty close, just my opinion).
I would love to see you review this set, and that's coming from someone who has only seen Jaws once too. The boat alone holds a massive appeal for me. Personally, Duel, Spielberg's earlier film that was basically a precursor to Jaws, left a bigger impression on me (I see there's a LEGO IDEAS set still open for support).
This is a great set, I love a good diorama, the angle and water that Jang mentioned and also the whole boat is poking out a bit. I think this is the best IP-based set Lego has done in a long time. Maybe Ecto1 and the DeLorean are better main builds, but they lack the diorama which I feel for a movie is really important. Staying with Spielberg, I did create a smaller-scale MOC of his "Duel" movie which can be found on rebrickable for free.
Jang you need to watch the movie again…this is so iconic…figures are spot on in my opinon..i just ordered this set yesterday..cant wait!!! Yes pls get this set..you wont be sorry!!!
What a great set!! I love everything about this. 😊👌 The figs look very much lime the actors, and yes he have that beanie in the movie. Jaws is a must see movie every summer for me so i seen it lots of times.
Big Fish! I suggest to listen the main theme melody, and you immediatly want this set! And the main faces of the minifigs fits their chars! Jaws was a slow-speed-up atmospheric real-in-many-aspects master-movie. It is worth to watch, if you have time and pay attention.
I do like both of these franchises on their own but not so much to call myself a ”fan” or even a ”hobbyist”. But even I now have the urge to own this thing on my shelf just because it looks so jawsome. I buy one Lego set every 3-4 years or so, so maybe this is the next one!
Yeah I just don't have time to rewatch stuff all the time like most people do. I work every day, all day & night. I absolutely love Star Wars and I'm presently re-watching the movies sequentially for the first time since just before Force Awakens released in theaters.
I think what the did for the eye is a technic hole piece with a normal hole connection, and then a nexo knights style small rod with ball goes through it
I'm a shark fan and I want to see this set :D (Side note: That shark looks genuinely really good to me. The only thing is that the piece for the gill slits probably should have been turned around, but then it wouldn't fit as nicely with the rest of the build.)
I've seen Jaws maybe once or twice, I always thought it was a goofy flick. But this looks fantastic. The Orca would look great in a MOC and don't get me started on Bruce himself, reminds me of the Aqua Raiders sets you know the black and yellow guys with the blue arrows from the mid 2000s, I had the tiger shark set. Also, Bruce the Shark in Finding Nemo is named after Bruce in Jaws. Technically they're the same shark.
It doesn't matter that much to me if Jang reviews this.. because I know I'm getting it. It looks great, I love the movie, I love boats and I love Lego Dioramas.. this checks only good boxes.
Jang I would love for you to buy and review this set. The only thing I request is that you watch the movie again so it’s fresh because it’s been too long

I can definitely recognize Quint. The other two look kinda generic.
I think they all look really good and I look like the characters. But maybe that's just me

Dude, they nailed the figures! Watch the movie again, it holds up pretty good after all these years.

hey jang just wanted to say i appreciate your content.

Well... looks amazing, and for me, figures do remind me of the crew. Very good one.
You've only seen Jaws once! It's definitely worth rewatching as it still holds up well despite the improvement in special effects. Must say, I'm very tempted to buy this - minifigures look great
Jaws was made with practical effects, that's always much better than today's CGI.

Yes, please buy and build it..I'm very interested in the boat. Not a Jaws fan either, but may end up getting this set just because I like it
I thought both Quint and Hooper are INSTANTLY recognizable. I was excited when I saw how good those figures looked.
As someone who loves JAWS, those minifigs are spot on! They are perfect LEGO renditions of their characters
The minifigs and the Orca look amazing. The shark is okay, and I wish the boat could float. Overall, nice set. I'll get it.
We're gonna need a longer review
Please buy and review. Those of us that grew up with Spielberg classics still like Jaws. Guessing there are a lot of us out there.
What a huge coincidence lol. I rewatched JAWS again this weekend and it’s still one of the best movies ever made imo. And this set looks incredible! I want to pick this up.
Thing about those Lego minifigures. They got lifeless eyes, black eyes. Like a dolls eyes, dont even look alive til you build them.
A few years ago my local multiplex showed Jaws and it was a sold out performance. It really stood up well and was a great night at the cinema with an audience that was into the movie.
Thank you Jang, again, for all you time, effort and positive vibes you give to us. 👍

Great preview there. Thanks. I'd love if you bought this set and reviewed it, JANG. I like how you get in-depth and details oriented.
Awesome set

Now this is is how you do a display piece
Is the eye maybe a microphone poking through a Technic brick?
It’s probably a 86876 with a 32474 or a 3700 with a ball joint pin.
Please Jang we need this review, it looks very good
I would love a true Jang review of this set!
This does seem like it would be a fun one to build on-stream. Or at least fun for me to watch you build on-stream. :)

My god, in the 360 video, the waves looked like they were moving! Such a fantastic job done on this set!
We're gonna need a bigger shelf 😱

1:42 Eye is most likely a microphone piece, just like in Kingfisher set.

The building techniques on that boat are top tier
Worth a rewatch. Amazing film. I personally think they’re spot on with the figures. I’d love to see you build and review the set.

Jang probably the best reviewer out there, but I was thinking those figures really do look like the characters as well as a lego minifigure format can. Quint, Brody and Hooper instantly recognisable even without the context of a jaws set being reviewed.
Pretty dang neat. Super happy they include the tail for display as wanted
I think it would have been good if the stand for the shark was the mechanical structure the film shark (Bruce) had. A Spielberg mini fig for that stand too, if we're wishing!
Probably save Spielberg for a Goonies pirate ship
If they set was celebrating Spielberg then I'd get that, but a behind the scenes style wouldn't look great here imo
The water splash where Jaws is emerging just looks amazing.
That price though...
I'd LOVE to see you buy this. Like above most other sets. Thanks.
My first Lego digital Designer build was this boat! And now 10 years later my dream set is amazing!
If you look at the back of the box, it seems like the display stand has the shark tail built INTO it, and the head has some kind of quick release to swap from the diorama to the display
Oh my goodness. They used Steam Boat Mickey’s hat as the bell but upside down!
You know it's a good set when you don't even need to be a fan of the source material to be impressed by it. Really well put together set!
This is a case of "if it's on a good sale, I'll get it"
I’ve waited so long for this set! Looks great. Better than I’d expected 🎉
The water looks good. Too many people just use trans-blue or loose fill 1x1s which looks completely unrealistic.
