    ►Important Disclaimer:
Never eat any mushrooms that you find outdoors without first consulting an expert. Information on the internet is a good start, but the consequences of eating the wrong mushroom can be severe.
I recommend the North American Mycological Association (NAMA) for those who would like to learn how to forage for mushrooms. NAMA has chapters across North America that offer classes and guided mushroom hikes. Learn more at their website: www.namyco.org

I recently discovered this and I'm hooked!
I've had a supplement (pill) that had Shiitake and I learned about it, but I didn't know my grocery store has them.
      In the frozen section tho.

Shandong Qihe Biotech is the largest manufacturer of shiitake spawn logs in the world, the yearly output is 100 million logs(1.75kg/log). on average yield of each log can fruit 750g shiitake mushroom. Qihe founded in 2000, has got the certification of Global G.A.P. ECOCERT EOS U.S.&Canada organic inputs certification, ISO22000 etc. We have several subsidiaries in U.S. Japan, Korea, Poland. It said Qihe hold more than 70% share of shiitake mushroom spawn market in U.S. The sea freight these days really high, but it won't last long. I know many people had hard time. Everyting will be good, don't give up. 40FT cold container=14400 logs (40cm*10cm*10cm)

I just bought a pound of dried shiitake and was going to blend and sprinkle over my dogs food? They're CRAZY expensive at the grocery store and natural vet recommended them. I'm hoping the dried version is safe for them??🤞🤞

I've also heard Shiitake are good for dogs, I just wonder if dogs can get 'Shiitake Dermatitis' like (very few) humans can -- if they are allergic. If you Google it, it looks like a bunch of welts all over your skin. They say cooking the Shiitake first will (should) prevent the dermatitis; just a thought. I just inoculated a bunch of logs with Shiitake spore so hoping this time next year I grow a bunch!

@@Fergusbaddog yikes nobody wants that side effect lol. I actually stopped feeding the mushrooms to them about 1/4 of the way through the bag, they must've got a true taste of the shrooms and not liked them? I think they prefer the occasional eggs and chicken and sweet potato😁😁😁

@@MushroomSite Shiitake are not "usually" grown on logs. In Japan yes. The rest of the "business" usually grows on Substrate. Log grown is maybe 3% of the shiitake sold. thanks

I use dried shiitake mushrooms for soups and pasta sauces. What I do is I leave the dried mushrooms in a bowl with freshly boiled water. I leave them for about 15-30 mins. After that, I squeeze the mushrooms to get rid of the excess water. Then I use that water for cooking too. I add that into the soup or pasta that I'm making. Tastes super good!

False. There are no chemicals used in shiitake farming. There are natural substrates to choose.
