- A huge thank you to the folks at WizKids for sending us a copy of the upcoming Star Trek game: "Into the Unknown." Ken opens up the box and shows off everything that is inside as well as giving a few opening thoughts.

Great stuff! And that they're sending you this box now means that the actual release can't be too far away!
Thank you for watching! Our best estimate is that the release is due out in early December. Waiting on confirmation though.
So it is possible to make games with pre-painted and pre-asssmbled models in this time and economy!
Great presentation as always, Ken.
Thank you, RevanBartus! I wanted to showcase some of the new stuff and will be diving into more aspects over the coming weeks. Battle Reports on their way.
WOO HOOO!!!
Looking forward to watching your ship comparison video!
And here we go!
Mr. Tater, Warp Speed!
Engage!
Super high quality video as always!
Thank you, Grey! We're hoping to release a few more soon to highlight some of the aspects I only mentioned in this video.

I actually got a notification that my copy has been shipped, super excited!! Going to buy multiple starter sets, one, to have more ships, but two, to show them that they need, absolutely need, to release expansion packs. Imagine the number of ships we'll get if this game is successful!
Here's hoping to a great release! We're pretty pumped about it here at ION Radio!
Looks great. Can’t wait for your campaign vids. Got shipment info for my preorder. So hopefully it’ll be in hand soon.
We have some new ideas for our battle reports. Stay tuned. :)
- Ken
Thanks for going through the cards. I was hoping for my titles like the Stargazer, but maybe individual expansion packs will have extra cards
You’re welcome. We wanted to cover as much detail as possible and had to cut something in favor of others. More videos will be diving into other aspects of the game. I do think this game is well setup for small card expansion packs along with larger ship and campaign packs. I know that more ships (example Federation ships with different registry numbers) are planned.
The standalone enterprise expansion is already up for pre order; so maybe we will see things like the Yamato!
Fantastic video. Its great we are getting some momentum towards release. Im looking forward to getting my own content out.
There is a lot of information that is going to start getting into everyone's hands with the content creators showcasing the game. I suspect the actual release date is imminent.
@@IONRadio Hoping for early December. Regardless shouldn't be too long.
I'm excited for this just to get my hands on a whole fleet of Star Trek ships!!
The expansions 'Rising Tension', 'Honor and Glory' and 'Scars of Occupation' are already spurring my imagination of what they might include!
We're hearing December this will hit store shelves for the Core Set!
Great stuff Ken/John 👍 🖖🏻
Thank you for watching! Glad to know you enjoyed it.
As frustrating as it is to not have any hard information about when this will be available. Your focus on presenting mostly new details is greatly appreciated, specially the scenario cards. Given the campaign nature of this game I most likely will not be watching you play it, but I do look forward to some more details about the rules system should you decide to provide some. Good work.
Happy we can provide some good detail on the game for you. I am asking about release timing, and my best estimate with information on hand is beginning of December. That being said, I do not have any confirmation from WizKids.
As to our battle reports, you may want to give them a shot. We have an idea on how best to present the game that should make them entertaining.
@@IONRadio It's not so much a question of presentation as simply spoiling the elements of the campaign that I worry about.
Ah… I didn’t think about that, and I can totally respect that as well. We’ll make a point to add a disclaimer on the campaign videos. Thank you!
December.
The scale is why i never picked up attack wing. this looks interesting tho ^^
Check out the Developer Interview I did - it provides some extra information on the game itself. th-cam.com/video/DqluNlWxCvc/w-d-xo.html
I also have a few more videos coming out on this over the next 2 weeks. A series of battle reports are also incoming.
Insane that they can do this when it killed armada to do so. I hope this game really does well.
AMG shut Armada down. They can cry "Lack of sales" all they want, when you don't support the product or release new content, I'm sure none of that helps. AMG wanted to kill the last vestiges of Fantasy Flight Games. I hope Petersen buys some of the IP back off them and makes successful games.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I have many gaming buddies interested in this game. What can you say about the solitaire suitability of it?
This is a great question. I will need to dig into the campaign and the additional rules that are not covered by the Game Overview book. I will add this to the list of items I will cover in future videos.
- Ken
@@IONRadio thanks, Ken. I’ll be on the look out. Looking forward to your future videos on this game.
I’m still not sold on the $149.99 price tag
From what I’m seeing you have a complete game in the core set. Unlike Armada or Attack Wing, you don’t NEED to purchase anything new.
Not trying to sell you on the set, although if there is something I could talk to that would help you (or someone else) make a decision either way what would that be?

Finally got my copy of this game and … if I wasn’t disappointed by the vids on game play which looks boring as heck I thought perhaps at least the ships would be to scale … and double disappointing… so the defiant and fighters are way way too small and the battle cruiser is way too big … sadly this will be a collection dead end … the defiant should be at least be just between 1/3 or 1/4 the length of the enterprise and it’s 1/6th … and the battle cruiser should be length wise shorter than the enterprise… it seems like their older Attack wing defiant would be to scale but to get people to re purchase miniatures they reduced the scale … also my constellation is also not to scale as it should almost be half the length of the enterprise but it’s at best 1/4 … it also feels like at any second the warp engines are going to snap off the connection is so flimsy… and NO the enterprise connection between saucer and secondary isn’t great at all
I would actually go with an extra Enterprise from the single kit and keep one ship locked together one separated. So you do not need to take it apart.
I wish they would stop using linen paper. Go for the smooth matte. Otherwise looks great lol.
