    Flat iron has always been my go to little hidden secret. Cheap, tender, beefy. Especially good in the sous vide! Shhhhh don’t tell anyone, I want these to stay cheap 😂

    I've always left those alone because of the toughness of the meat but if this is exactly how it should be cooked I'm going to try this!!

      If you know how to properly cook these they’re not tough whatsoever, just gotta watch out because there’s a line of really tough sinew that runs down the middle

      I just grilled up some flat iron 10 minutes ago and again was suprised with the crazy tenderness. Its one of the most flavourfull and also tender cuts of meat. The key is knowing how to trim the silverskin

      DO NOT OVERCOOK THESE. ideally you want a really high heat and a good 4 to 5 minute sear on both sides. let the steak sit for a decent 5 minutes and then slice AGAINST the grain not parallel with it or else it won’t be so tender

    Not marinated, no sauce, no seasoning, no crispy skin, looks tough, you have a sharp knife but would the customer knife slice it that easily?

    I just watched how to take one apart. after separating the parts out (removing some silverskin) it does look very tasty. can't wait to try mine

    The butcher suggested that I try a flat iron steak. I've never bought one before. I cooked it just like he recommended, the exact same way as you ! It looks great 👍 I checked the temp at 125 degrees and removed it to sit . I have not cut into it yet. I will tonight!

    For that thickness. 7- 8 minutes for med rare. Five minutes for people who like it more on the rare side

    What I find most insane is that this man-child is begging for a $320 joystick, plus PS subscription just so he can play the 2 day beta on PS5 because it won't be cross-platform. Even though the game will be cross-platform on the actual release. All based on his assumption that there won't be many people playing the beta on the Xbox version. Based on no research. For 2 days. Business degree, everybody.

      No, it's myoglobin, a red protein that looks like blood and is commonly confused with it. It is the protein that gives the pink colour in a medium rare steak, before the temperature gets to hot and the protein breaks down.

      Learn to eat steak properly. You want it fully cooked? Get beef jerky and save money.

      @@hellothereperson2187 eat it how you want to. I eat my medium well. I can cook that properly to how I like it. But that was raw with a sear. If that’s what you like than keep eating it

    I love flatirons cooked in the crock pot so tender and flavorful
