Synopsis:
It is the 1990s, the tape-cassette is dying, CDs will soon be the rage and a regular arranged marriage will turn out to be a perfect mismatch. Prem (Ayushmann Khurrana) is a shy music buff who runs a tape recording shop in Haridwar. Sandhya (Bhumi Pednekar) likes to dance to the band tunes at her own wedding. He has nightmares about drawing a blank at his English exam. She is about to carve a niche for herself as a teacher.
But now, they are married and they are supposed to spend a lifetime together - and he is still trying to find balance on their scooter ride together. From overcoming his fear of the English language to dealing with an overbearing father, he discovers that his oversized wife, who he thought was a spanner in his spool, will actually lead him to something quite cool.

I used to criticize Indian movies for being unrealistic and I used to make fun of their style of dancing and singing. However, when it came to this movie, I watched and listen to the song several times, after watching the movie. This movie and this song is extremely beautiful. I am originally from Iran and was traveling by the airline very bored in the airplane. I was trying to watch movies and tried many western movies, I was not able to keep watching more than few minutes. It was all about cheating and .... non reliable families and lack of culture. A white man was sitting beside me watching action movies of torture and craziness. I was about to explode. I found this movie and watched it a few times. It was so beautiful, that it made me cry each time I watched it. I am so proud of Indian culture. The rich, strong, kind and warm Indian culture is not only the pride of Indian people, but it is the pride of humanity. This land and raised great people, such as Gandhi and Buddha.

Ana :Be Blessed. You are lucky to have seen it two yrs ago. I saw it a month ago on T.V.because I generally don't see modern ( after 1990s) hindi films. But Now I have changed my mind and seen quite a few of them ( esp the low starrer ones ) which are quite good and with sensitive theme ( another one of them being "Chalo Dilli" which I have seen quite a few times).
it's a complete entertainer, perfectly written, performed, act and directed.

There are high paid actors and their movie are like shitty and still be great hit in box office, and there are these kind of movie which is far better then theirs but due to our thinking of new comers cant deliver great movie we should change our thought and give it a shot to see alternatives too.....who ever the director is he definitely will be a great director in future, god bless all the crew and actors for their better future
Absolutely Loved this film , I have lost count of how many times I have watched it...The actors are exceptional, making the scenes so real in every way... All the music was so great, everything was amazingly done , with great talent...and the lessons to be enriched by ...for always...Hope to see much more of these two, can't wait.... great films are hard to find these days...this is definitely one... :)

I had goosebumps when the movie starts with Kumar Sanu's voice. This movie gave rightfully tribute to Sanu. And the era5of 90s got alive. DLKH was the first movie that brings the 90s back, then music industry, TV industry, film industry followed the league afterwards.

So much praise for Ganga, but no one, especially YRF could at least start some awareness for preservation and cleaning Ganga or a foundation for its care and perpetuity....sad commentary on India.

And the kind of hard work is required and beyond that how many number of people come together and integrate for common purpose and goal is commendable... Great video and soo natural and authentic and extremely relatable and connecting.... Bhumi and ayushmaan both were superb and fantastic, it was very good to watch both of them together the way they carried their roles is perfect..... And the biggest stand out for me was onsomble cast i mean seema, sheeba, sanjay and others all of them added so much humour and great observational comedy to the film... Kudoos to such actors and hope for such movies in future....
