The two snakes I left off the list are cottonmouth snakes and pygmy snakes. We also have coyotes but they're super timid and rarely ever approach humans. One animal that isn't deadly but you will run into a lot is skunks. They might not kill you but if you get sprays or (more likely) your dog does, you will wish you were dead. What do you think? I think it's fine not using a teleprompter especially if it saves a lot of time. I remember wild boars from Germany, they used to chase us on our bikes and are definitely not fun !
Bruh.. my buddy and I were circled on some train tracks by some coyotes in effing Knoxville 😂😂 we was throwing rocks and my dude ended up getting a big ass stick and all I had was a rusty rail road spike and rocks. I was terrified man cause I was small af back then
1 in 5 striped skunks has rabies and will not show symptoms nor will they die from it, they've developed a genetic immunity, along with the chances of airborne exposure, and their wide range skunks are a larger threat in Tennessee than the spiders we have
The Florida Panther is in Tennessee, It has migrated from Florida and has been found all the way up to Maine. Also Timber Wolves are also in Tennessee near the North Carolina boarder.

The Florida panther is the only subspecies of cougar native to the southeastern united States that still exists, the ones currently being found in Tennessee are most likely of the western subspecies due to the fact that the majority of confirmed sightings have been in west and middle Tennessee and the fact that the last eastern mountain lion in Tennessee was killed in the early 1920s and were declared nationally extinct 12 years ago. East Tennessee mountain lions are about as real as the red wolf packs they claim still roam cades cove and clingmans dome area

Great list, also hear the American Alligator thar go 13ft 660lbs are migrating to TN from the southern states due to changing patterns, Also the mosquito and Kissing Bug and Ticks. Thinking a sidearm and snake boots are a must in the woods with some bug and bear spray...😂
I think this blog is more a promotion of East Tennessee wildlife. If you see an Elk or a Red Wolf, be sure to photograph it and post it. You will be a hero. In 78 years, I have only seen two copper head snakes and one Timber Rattle Snake. I have seen dozens of Black Snakes. I have timberland and river front property in East Tennessee. I have seen one Red Wolf in Grainger Co., TN. I have also seen a half dozen Wildcats. Frankly, I have seen more bears, wildcats and panthers in Naples, FL and Python Snakes than I have ever seen in Tennessee.
No. The biggest reptile we have in TN is probably the black snake which is a constrictor, non-poisonous, and in fact, most farmers like them on their property to keep mice away.
Usual suspects moving from high crime areas aka Califuqyah , Memphis , Chicago , etc…. With our police with hands tied can’t stop these dangerous creatures.
We definitely have Cougars (same as panthers, mountain lions, puma depending on what part of U.S youre in)!! We've had them in our yard many times! And the Park Rangers for the most part aren't allowed to tell you that! I live near Paris Landing and part of National Park!
I’ve gotta disagree with you about the wolves, the panthers I’ve never seen a panther personally but I have 100% seen several wild wolves in east TN and there’s alooot of people who have spotted panthers.
I've live here in newport tn I've seen black panthers I practically lived way back in woods and I've seen brown mountain cats and 8ve seen black ones more than the brown one your wrong there buddy seen them as kids till got older and same one probably still back in that holler in Bybee tn and if you get bitten buy tember rattler you have about 30 to 45 minutes to get to a ER and I've seen wolf not as much as foxes and there are 1000s of wild dogs coyotes but o ly few far between on wolf but we do have them usually very skinny and looks like thay have rabbis though but I've only ever seen one true wolf here in Tennessee but several black cats and only like 2 times mountain lions that whet brown and big like the black ons

@sethferguson5000 yes a pack of coyotes will come after you normally If it's just one they will run away unless it's got rabies

I ride a dirtbike and I see copperheads, bears, elk and wild boars all the time. I'm most concerned with Mountain Lions.
