    This performance seems to ignore indications for phrasing. Legato gone mad?

      As far as I have understood, it is a style of playing and is very common in romantic organ music.
      Instead of breathing in the space between phrases, you keep the legato and use rubato for expression instead.
      I'm new to the world of organ music interpretation, but it seems like a general rule. I guess Prière à Notre-Dame by Boëllmann is a good example.

      But if the performer is not aiming for a historically accurate recording, there is nothing wrong with it right?
      Then it is only a matter of taste, and personally I think this recording is wonderful in so many ways.
