This is pretty sweet! Nice moves also!
I think Collin Martin has created an extreme version of the NR set up for small wheels. He mentions it on his How To Be Unpopular podcast episode. Still, you can't beat the solidity of the Wizard/Seba/Intuition combo, such an amazing feeling set up! :)

@@ThatShaunBoy I would like to skate, and I was wondering how we could do the wizard setup naturally, can we directly buy a Pair of rollerblades with this natural frame ?

My 4x110 frame was already ordered, when you came up with this. So I added some 100 and 105mm wheels to try this out when everything arrives. Thanks for the idea!!! :) Good times ahead...
Trinity is one of the really good things that could happen to inline skating. I am combining a Phuzion Argon, an R2, a Doop and soon a Kaze boot with 3x110 Al, 4x80 Ego, 3x110/125 MG Elite and the 150mm Edge off-road frames. I couldn’t imagine more versatility. One of the biggest fun is the R2 on the 4x80. That is just crazy; fast, smooth and super lightweight. Also fits in a handbag for air travel taking little space. You can skate home from the airport!
That’s the pocket skate or a café racer, whatever you like!
You mentioned somewhere that you also experimented with a speed boot and short/low frame combos. Do you have or plan to share something about that?
Actually I decided to get the 4x110 frame because I felt that on rough asphalt (and I mean really rough) the 4x80 was smoother than any of the 3x setups. Also the 3x125 MG Elite frame even with the 110mm wheels is a bit too high for me for the long distance, at least on the R2.
I find this 4x110 frame a bit of an overkill - maybe only for me? And I agree a 4x100 trinity would also be needed. Most entry level speed skates came with 4x100 in the recent years - there must be a reason for that. Beside that I don’t see anybody competing with 3x110 setups. I understand that for marketing reasons pushing the triskates brings a lot and there are places where it makes a lot of sense. But I am not sure if everywhere. :) I am very happy with the 2x150mm Edge off-road for example. ;)
All in all quite some thumbs up for you and PS.Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm.

I know, I want to buy them as my new skates for this season after 9 years on my old skates (RB fusion x7). Since I saw it for the first time I wanted them as perfect replacement for those old RBs. Our (czech) importer had them in eshop since april but unavailable :-( So now I'd like to know more anyway ..

I've literally just started skating again in my 40's and my old skates broke so I ordered the usd basic 60. Then I see all this stuff about wizard skating and kick myself for buying a one piece skate ! I will definitely try out those wheel sizes !

Still Monday over here ! =P I just started skating a few weeks ago and have fallen in love with the full rocker (banana) setup! Maybe once I get some more time under my belt I will try other rocker setups.

cool idea!! try the k2 uptown/mid town frame you can rocker by adjusting the axel hole!!! its only 80mm but i believe you can get the same affect by rocker the 3rd wheel out more, i will need to test it out.

    Saludos.

I have the 90mm wizards (I adore skating them more than trinity!) I think your rocker looked a lot more severe than the wizard rocker. That's cool though, more rock more fun?

Maybe trying the r100 k2 or r80 kw frames. These frames have rockering options.

Olá Ricardo e muito bom dia! Thanks for the infos! After trying the banana rocker with 76-80-80-76 i switch to your setting which came out on 72-76-80-76. well, it is not as agil as the banana, but a lot more stable on fast runs or even going backwards. And I felt a powerstop is easier to initiate. Muito obrigado pelas tuas todas experiências!

The hardcore evos make the difference, a far superior boot for this kinda skating. Ive just changed my wheels on my seba marathon 110s..so ive some well worn-down 110s that are closer to 100mm now might have to try this!

It is interesting that this video and the Wizard frame/Mushroom blading/ShopTask ones are the only videos that seem to have these types of turns and gazelles. Is this the only setup that allows for this? Would love to see you take these outside or on that skatepark with the smaller hills.

Hi Ricardo! Writing from Menorca Island in Spain. One question that for sure is not related to this video, but I’ve seen some videos from you doing downhill and I’ve just started doing that which is amazing! But I am wondering where to find five wheels skates, as with my humble rollerblade Twister X, I am afraid I will be in trouble in a close future, specially as my wheel setup is Hydrogen wheels with ILQ 9 twin cam pro bearings which are so fast. Would be nice to see some tips for downhills, setup, protection guards and so on. Have a good day!!!

Awesome advice! Thanks Ricardo. I tried on my 80mm skates and now I cant skate flat anymore! I have another pair of 3x110. Would you recommend to put one 100mm on the first wheel? I mean to rocker them

Surely the best diy natural rocker is to just skate the wheels for a few sessions? Blam, job done ;-) !
Great idea Mr.Lino! Love the experimentation!
For those thinking of trying to create a natural rocker like this, the big disadvantages of doing this long term is-
-there are not many choices for wheels for this set up, so chances are your wheels profiles, hardness, cores are not going to be inconsistent!
-the idea of playing with rockering is great (I have been doing it for years now to experiment with the advantages and disadvantages of certain set ups), but it isn’t the same as a natural rocker! Of course the gazelles, lions, and other wizard twists and turns are going to be easier with a more pronounced rocker, but I don’t believe a true natural rocker can be created by placement of wheels alone! The natural rocker provides you a very stable and natural stance, which means the balance between manoeuvrability and stability is perfect!! Fantastic turning ability + no drastic forward and back weight shifts! For example, I can take the wizards to bomb some hills and remain very stable and controlled at higher speeds-I’ve also tried set ups with wheels which have a 2-3mm rocker from front to back, and just dropping into a small quarter can sometimes get me turtle headin’ or touching cloth!
Lovely idea though! And my comments are only valid in response to creating a DIY natural rocker set up! Some people much prefer a banana rocker, or high low, etc, and some people may love or hate different set ups for different reasons!
But to all those hoping this is a long term cheap wizard replacement idea, i don’t think it is at all! Too all those looking to just try a new set up (as Mr.Lino suggested), or are currently saving for some wizards, I’m sure this is a great pit stop to make before getting the real deal!

For what it’s worth, HC evo trinity boots with xxx 4x110 frames are basically the same price as Seba sx boots with wizard frames. Cool diy, but doesn’t count when you use top of the line parts. ;)

    • @Bavmorda
      @Bavmorda 5 ปีที่แล้ว

But the idea can still be tried using more modest equipment... Any freestyle/slalom boot you have, and there's a few significantly cheaper options on speed/marathon frames. Still limited to Powerslide if you want Trinity of course.

@riccardo lino i have a question.i have a PS Next and my boot size Is 48eu. my problem Is that the frame measuring 243mm with 80mm wheels (frame+wheels 320mm)and my boot measuring 340mm.i don't have a lot balance due to the wheels end up under my foot.you know if i do this configuration my stabilizzation will improve?and for you can i mont a 80mm wheels at this frame?
