If you've been with me for these past years you've noticed I've been constantly my white turntable stylus (AT3600L) for 3 years.. when that should've been changed at least actually 3 years ago. And so today I got the brand new ATN91 stylus, which is an upgrade and the difference is huge!

Old stylus is AT3600l, new one is AT91 (conical vs. elliptical) ;-)
The new one is 3 times better to my ears. Way more clarity and definition. Like going from AM to FM.

Getting a new stylus was like hearing my collection for the first time again. Everything was so much clearer.
I don’t think TH-cam has enough quality to compare music.
Old stylus less harsh, sounds more realistic but slightly less dynamic.
Prefer the white
For the comparison you need to use the same model old and new.
Honestly, I can't hear such difference that new is miles ahead.... Maybe new is not running in enough to hear spectacular diff.

It's not a fair comparison because ATN91 has a different sound than ATN3600L

Different cartridges. Real test would be if you had the same ones. I prefer the second one though
So if I have an AT3600L I can buy the ATN91 and install it in the 3600L cartridge?
Technically yes, But the 3600L requires 3,5g tracking force, while the 91 (and the 91R) only 2g. So it's not recommended on preset tracking force turntables, like the LP60

I don’t see much difference at all, again we are comparing two different cartridge models and is not a fair comparison…pretty obvious to see some difference due to that. I moved the video several times to compare, don’t see much of a change

I’ve noticed that the old stylus contains more surface noise and clicks and pops.
Also the old stylus is quieter as well

I have a CD player that nearly 20 years old and some CDs that were pressed in the 90s and they still sound the same. You can play a CD a billion times and there will be NO wear.
