I went to the Merrell store fully expecting to buy Moab 2 boots. However, I tried on numerous shoes and decided that the Merrell Phoenix 2 Mid Thermo WP boots were the most comfortable. I'll wear them for a while and see how they hold up. I did like the Moab 2 -- but they weren't on sale and the Phoenix 2 boots were $60 less expensive.
Honestly i want to thank this channel this video for helping me find in my opinion the most comfortable shoe ive ever worn. I bought the Merrell moab 2 vent and trust me it is the most comfortable shoe. I feel in love with it. I got me another pair for back up. Love the shoe
I just bought the Low moab ventilater. Seem really comfortable. I also bought the OBOZ Sawtooth mid. Returning them and getting the Mid Merrel dry boots. OBOZ over marketed the insoles and the Mids Merrels heels are better. OBOZ is just hard on your heels.. I will never buy another OBOZ shoe or boot. Can't trust the first pair . Why waste my money?. They make the bridger in wide width , but why spend extar $30.00. No loop on the ones they showed me at the one store I bought the Sawtooth. Once Bitten Twice shy.
Where is the Sawtooth? For me it is the best dry and warm condition hiking shoes / boots. It is very comfortable especially if you will put additional cushion sole inside. It has a hard and tough layer of sole so if you accidentally stepped on sharp objects like nails or broken bottles, it will not penetrate the sole and injure your feet. And it's the same layer that provides spring-like action that propels you forward if you want to run fast. It is contrary to popular beliefs that the harder the shoe to flex, the slower you can run with it. (It can be noted here that some basketball shoes/sneakers are also equipped with this kind of feature that actually allow you to jump higher and run faster. In other words, if it bends, it stores kinetic energy that springs back). It may not be totally waterproof but in the summer that is not a problem. It also allows your feet to breathe. It is one of the toughest model of Merrell and that is probably why it is also used by some special forces and preppers as their tactical boots.
It seems like the men's boots are always so much cuter than the women's (not just this brand). I love the "forest bound," is there a way to get a proper fit in this one for a woman? Btw, I've had a pair of merrell's for yrs, lucked upon them on ebay (just $35, ha, and didn't know the brand at that point) and have worn the heck out of 'em.

My last paid of hiking shoe was Salomon and I loved them but I am sure Merrrell are similar in Quality.

Does anyone wear the moab for winter hiking? They have the option for wide which is why I want those vs the other ones.
