It's not really related but I heard this from my cab driver. Back in the '90s, one of the houses in the same lane as mine also belonged to a shaman/witch doctor. He said that Mona always visited the shaman, "For what?" I asked him. "Probably black magic and stuff, who knows,".
I was intrigued because I'd heard of Mona's case but I didn't born yet at the time so I didn't know much. AND I'd never of the house's story like that before as currently, my neighbourhood friends lived there so I have fond memories of it.
I asked my parents about the story and my mum was surprised I knew about it since she never told me about it! I asked if it was true, and she said yeah, but on the Mona part, she doesn't know. So yeah. Just a few pieces related to Mona I guess.
    ...
"Don't worry anymore lah, the shaman is already dead and look at the house now, so beautiful and modern!" The taxi driver tried to assure me as we passed the house, genturing to it (I didn't need it but thanks, pak cik lol).
"Yeah, the house have several children now so the remaining ghosts go far away since much more 'monsters' have taken control of the house."
"Haha ya lah, either way, you don't do this black magic thing lah. It's haram in Islam and very frowned upon, a very big sin as murder. But some people never learn, funny although we're advanced now and people still do such stuff. Just take the case as a lesson that's all." He reminded me at the end. Nice way to end the story, Pak cik.
    ...
This is why I like taxi more than Grab, you could hear stories from them.

Megan, the way you spoke 'ku nyanyikan lagu ini' was on spot, exactly what a Malaysian pronounce it in Bahasa Malaysia, not a single Korean accent in it, marvellous. 👍 And yes, it was indeed a high profile case back then that involved greeds, the corrupted and twisted minds. Good and well researched into this.

Thank you and kudos for emphasising and explaining that although main religion in Malaysia is Islam and witchcraft is forbidden, it is true that some still believe in superstitions still, even until today. The info you are explaining about title Datuk, talisman, its all legit and correct information. Keep delivering the dark cases in such unbiased, clear and true ways🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

We were once Dato' Mazlan neighbor back in the 90s in Kuantan Pahang. Dato' Mazlan's Wife (Datin Faridah) were my mom best friend (she usually came to our house for tea time and chatting with my mom - Those day my mom did a small tailoring business so many neighbors would come and have their outfit tailored & sew by my mom). I still remembered she was worried that her husband (missing for more than 2 weeks). And her only son with the late Dato' Mazlan were my friend (although he is around 5 to 7 year my junior). It was a very sad after we get to know what really happened to the husband.

The hunger for greatness, a poison to sow.
She danced with the devil, her soul stained with sin,
The sins that consumed her, the bonds that would break.
In the quest for great power, she lost something more,
The love that once lived, now locked behind a dark door.
Let this tale be a warning, to those who crave fame,
To those who seek fortune, and those who seek blame.
For within every shadow, a darkness resides,
A choice to be made, a path to decide.
May we stand firm in virtue, our hearts free from greed,
For a life well lived, is a life well received.
In the end, it is love that outshines every sin,
So, let us embrace kindness and let the light in.

This happens in the early 90's. There an urban legend about the police discovering the victims heart still beating even after days it was buried. According to the lore, the victim knew he was going to be cut to pieces. It was a ritual to become more powerful version of the human being, somewhat almost immortal. Mona was supposed to dig the remains after few weeks then the remains will attach itself back again. The victim then we reborn a new with mystical powers. But since the victim was well known politician, the family reported him missing and the ritual was botched since the police dug up the remains earlier than it was supposed to. Then it was an urban legend. Mona and her husband might just kill the man for fame and fortune and lied about the ritual (meaning the ritual might not have worked at all).
