- On today's Watchman Newscast, host Erick Stakelbeck is on the ground in Jerusalem with Israeli tour guide and archaeologist Danny "The Digger" Herman to share the true history of the world's holiest site: the Temple Mount. Both Jewish Temples once stood there, Jesus taught there and Islam's Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa mosque are there today. So, who really has a claim to this ancient site and why will it become even more of a flashpoint in the days to come?

The Bible gives an accurate account of history and foretold far too many prophetic event's accurately, it's amazing. The Bible explains sin, right and wrong, life and death. The Bible explains the soul and afterlife. The Bible predicts tomorrow and the end of this world. The Bible accurately predicted Jesus and numerous facts about Him; His lineage, where He would be born, what He would do, how He would die, and much more... The Bible foretold the 4 kingdom's of this world, 3 now part of recorded history, the last kingdom is yet to come. The Bible explains the intimate details of the heart of man, and people know this is true unless one willingly denies it, but it's obviously true considering all the evil and harm done in this world. The Bible explains all these things and yet, after all of it's historical accuracy, explanation for our existing, and predictions of future events, it makes no sense to deny it is true. Psalms 14:1 "The fool has said in his heart, There is no God". You cannot explain how the Bible predicted tons of accurate events, you cannot refute how man was created, you cannot explain the afterlife. Choose life in believing in Jesus sacrifice on the cross because your eternal existence depends upon it. I will pray that you will come to know these things are the truth.

Eric I saw a Jewish documentary and they said that the Temple Mount is not where the temple was. They said it was built by Solomon in the City of David. Because you need water for the temple. Their is none at the dome of the Rock. The western wall is the retaining wall of Fort Antonia. Do you know about this issue?

God gave the Jews Jerusalem in 1947/48 but an Israeli leader gave the mount to Muslims to appease them MISTAKE.

Somewhere in the Old Testament God told the Israelites to kill all of a certain evil people (forgot where it is in The Bible at the moment) and they did not kill them: it could have avoided much of the trouble with the descendants now.
God will never desert the Jews. They have been severely disciplined in history to bring them back to God but always return to THEIR land.
The Last Days are all about the Jews, they will all finally accept Jesus Christ as Lord & Saviour and their enemies will be totally annihalated.

The rock under that Mosque isnt a threshing floor, David bought a threshing floor. The temple’s location and dimensions were not that of a Roman fort, this was debated for years on end till one man said, lets quit arguing. Since then next generations didnt care or didnt read bible data next to history to see whats really there. One needs to think for themselves vs being led by emotions and hearsay.
@@Arwen-xt5cp The threshing floor would not be in the middle of a city, but on a high place as in the way threshing was done back then. The Romans didnt always make large fort locations, but took over areas and utilized them. The water was brought by an aqueduct over 3 miles away, because of filling the 3 cisterns under the temple mount to use for sacrifices and cleansing. There is plenty of research material, but unfortunately there are many who dont agree on things. We are made of flesh and therfore are always trying to look at things in our own reasoning ways. I look forward to being with God and listen to him and being corrected by him. I definitely could be wrong about my assessment on the temple mount. I understand at this time that in the very near future the 3rd temple and mosque will be side by side.

That gold was strewn all over the Temple Mount when the Moslems invaded and set up shop there. It was from that gold residue from the original ruins of the temple that the Caliph Omar constructed the Dome of the Rock.

I am Catholic and I am appalled that the Jewish people cannot worship in their most holiest place. How did the Muslims get there? How did they take over and why was that permitted? I just watched your TH-cam episode on the Temple Mount with 'Danny the Digger'. Have you ever studied the facts concerning the Temple location was in the City of David and that todays Temple Mount was the Roman Fort for the 10th Legion? There has never been any fresh running water on the traditional Temple Mount location, where as the Gihon Spring would supply the 'Living Water' that the Priest would have needed for the Temple. I suggest you do a episode on this alternative theory and how it does make sense. Maybe you should interview Bob Cornoke and some of the others who study and believe that the City of David is the correct site.

There's a huge debate as to the location of 1st temple.This particular locale is a " traditional" place because of lost history and it has also been deemed as Fort Antonia where the Roman soldiers lived.
I'm from Israel. Most of these folks here are not, but may have visited. They are much smarter than you.
Tell me, during Jesus's time, how many Roman Soldiers were station in Fort Antonio inside Jerusalem's walls and also including the soldiers who were camped outside the walls?
Yes. This whole "temple mount" site area was needed to house the numbers of solders that the fought held. And all the land marks then line up correctly, with the original temple being within the old city of David - just recently discovered. And the current area designated as the fort could not hold nearly enough personal. The temple also has documented permanent water source, which was required for temple operation, and such a source exists not on the temple mount, but in the old city of David.
:) As far as smart people is concerned; it doesn't take a lot of smarts to simply accept whatever it is that current academia teaches and preaches. Such smarts would have us believing the religion of evolutionism as but one example.
Beyond all that; as it turns out; Israel is probably already full capable of building the third Temple at the correct site in the old city of David, simply ignoring the Muslims on the "temple mount" completely. I don't know, that may happen only after the coming war against Israel, where God destroys the attacking enemy's (and their homelands) with actions including raining sulfur as per Sodom and Gomorrah. Will be something to see. The world will see and know God's power. We're blessed to be living in such times. God Bless.

The Temple Mount is not the location of the First 2 Temples. Not only is it not atop the Gihon Spring, but the topology of the area has been drastically changed over the centuries. The only thing remaining is the Gihon Spring located some 600 ft to the south of the Temple Mount.The Temple Mount is the remains of the Roman Fort Antonia.
The Wailing Wall is part of the second temple, so the Temple Mount must be the correct location. Gihon, Siloam and City David is further downhill.
Why it so holy? because God says so.Look Bible clause chapter Deuteronomy cap. 11 and verse 11 and 12.

The Shekinah light is closely associated with the meaning of God’s name, ‘He Causes...” (its a verb!)... He (‘Jehovah’ in English) can make anything happen.

Look! Far north of Bethlehem!
They're gathering all around!
Watch Damascus
Very soon
