Love when a fish hits trolling! Beautiful redfish

It's always a good feeling when they hit on the troll and they start ripping drag!

Just like the Kelce commercial on TV, "two things at once"! Recover your hat while fighting a big fish. Nice job!

Great catch Omar! Slick move on the hat, too.

Thanks Joe! I'm glad it worked out getting my hat and landing the fish. I was worried about losing one or the other.

That’s some clear water man! Nice redfish!

Thanks man! That clear water makes them tough on the bite sometimes but this one was hungry!

It had me shook with how much line it started to take and also lost my hat in the process lol

Dude, when I saw your hat in the water... too funny, but it be like that sometimes... blow up and get all wrecked in the yak on the first hit. Good times man. Gotta get you out in the Skiff with me one of these days.@@oafishing

It was great meeting you. I only ended up with two rat reds that day. Thanks for the support!

I got a Hewes at Eglin, new to the area, would love to take you out and pick your brain on the area.

I really appreciate the invite. Can't make any promises because I'm not sure what days if any I'll be able to get out over Christmas break. If you live in the area maybe we can link up some other time down the road.

Where did you get that net?

I got it off amazon. It is the ForEverlast net. www.amazon.com/Foreverlast-Generation-Non-Snag-Floating-Standard/dp/B01FU0GHU6?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1 It looks like Academy may have it for cheaper.

What areas near Navarre through PCB are good places to fish for sheepshead and some redfish? It’d be my first time, so just trying to figure out some places to go.

I have only fished areas between 331 and Navarre. All of the big bridges hold Sheepshead. I've had most luck at Destin bridge, 331 can also be good. The redfish will be in shallow water on grassy flats and/or near docks during mid day when the sun warms that water a bit, but it can be tough getting them to bite. Plenty of flats on the north and south ends of Choctawhatchee Bay.
