    Who doesn't hate backing into warehouses with the sun in the mirrors? I've thought about getting a few of the rail securements, maybe after the company change. Awesome video again thanks for teaching us.

    Nice Job on that tarp job! Lol. I like my tarps best when they stay in the side box! Haha. I'm up in MT, headed to Butte then P/U in Idaho Springs to Denver..

    Hey Driven and anyone else really, if your looking for tarps check out Joplin tarp, I’m not affiliated with him at all I am just impressed with the operation. They can custom make tarps, like my 8 foot drops have 4 rows of d rings which allows you to secure weird loads better. He also makes 30x30 machinery tarps and the best part is the prices! A little more expensive than Mercer but the quality is a lot higher. Just a heads up to anyone running around Joplin 44 or 4 state trucks.

      Right on, I already have some in the works but it’s always nice to hear personal recommendations. Thank you 👍🏻

    I'm tarping my first machinery load today and I'm pretty nervous.
    It's 9'3" wide too. 17' long and 9' tall.
    Wish me luck.

    Some loads are a bugger to tarp. Great job. It easy doing vans but a flatbed{ stepdeck) is hard.

  • @rdmike2637
    @rdmike2637 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Non flatbedder question.... Why snap binders over rachet on this load?

    • @DrivenTrucking
      @DrivenTrucking  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m not crazy about the rachet binders that I have, they make nicer ones that basically lock in place. The ones that I have slowly on wind if they are not secured exactly correct so given the nature of the load, the snap binders do not come loose so I felt more comfortable

    • @suicidejockey801

      I still prefer snap over ratchet.

    You can just buy some clevis and don’t have to remove pins on the chains

    Most important thing I've learned in flatbed, drink a lot of water.

    I have a question how do Truckers deal with sunshine? I am asking because I know depending on the time of day it is challenging in a car I can imagine being in a semi.
    You mentioned at the beginning you had to back in to your pick up location and had to deal with sunshine which is why I was wondering.
    I always look forward to your videos they are educational and a lot of fun

    • @DrivenTrucking
      @DrivenTrucking  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks James! There’s not really a good way in that particular instance. Some trucks have external visors so between those, the internal ones, and the ability to raise and lower your seat a good bit, you can usually find a good spot.

    2 things.
    1) Cut those 20 footers into 10 footers. You will thank me for that.
    2) Throw those dam slap binders away!
    You are now a drop decker!
    Unless you want a ticket for failure to secure or loose your jaw!
    You preach safety yet you use slap binders?
    Bro.. Get rid of them slap binders.
    I do not want to see a video named:
    How I lost my jaw.
    How I got a concussion.
    How I lost my eye balls.
    How my arm got torn off.
    I have friends that are now suffering from all of that because of slap binders.
    Uhg!
    Please stay safe.

      I hear ya, I need to get some better ratchets, I’m just not crazy about the ones I have

    • @jerrysantos6484
      @jerrysantos6484 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Get the ratchet 1/2 inch binders. Not the crappy 5/8 binders.
      They have a 12.5k load limit if you go from the trailer to the peice. 6.5k if used in a chain combo with 3/8 in chain or 1/2 in chain. Beleive me, much better off. And be able to kiss and eat in the long run.
