I agree. Just don’t talk too much with the annoying one’s and don’t smile and seem to be friendly. Otherwise the more they’ll talk to you and won’t leave you alone
@Lucie: A couple of suggestions from my personal experience. This may be considered rude in the West but will be just fine in India (I grew up there) : Never make eye contact with vendors & auto drivers following you around, never show any interest unless you are looking for a ride or to buy any of the wares, & keep walking (thank yous' are not needed). Just keep walking without engaging! I did the same in other countries such as Egypt and I was left alone while my fellow travellers from the West kept getting harassed.
_Why this local people's doing like this to visitors and traveller's. Everyone know about this issue's then why not action against this situation. All of giving silent support for grow up for like this situation, that's wy too much XXX vedios coming from like this city's this is true. 85% ladies living here without proper safety all of too much suffering in local are, job destination from friends family members inside from her home also...._ 😢😢😢
I am so proud of how Lahiru behaved like a gentleman in this case. He doesn't need to bark if a dog on the other side is barking! Hats off to my brother, as another fellow Sri Lankan. He simply knew not to behave like one of them and avoided making the situation even worse. I feel sorry to see what you guys went through.
I am so glad I watched your vlog. I have just scratched India off my bucket list. Can’t stand it when people don’t respect personal space & boundaries. I know we all come from different cultures but NO is No. Well done to you for not loosing your patience, I would have struggled with that.
If you want personal space then book train 1 class not third class or second class😂. If you don't book then don't ask for personal space. India have everything you need. Only you need correct money or do the process correctly.
The state lucy is at is jaipur, it is filled with poor desperate people and they will do anything to make a living. All north india is mostly poverty. I suggest to go in tourist states like mumbai or much better goa located in south india which is popular for its beaches. Many foreigners go there from all around the world. Over there people respect your boundaries and don't even stare at you if you look different. A lot of indians from other states also come to goa for holiday. I might be biased since I'm indian but at the same time i hate people who harass others for money and don't wish it upon anyone
You can see In sri lanka how people treat forein ladies. They never do like this. They respect them and kindly help them always. And lot of Sri lankans are well educated. And also so humble.
Also I think Lahiru although might seem timid to the advances was wise not to confront them aggressively in a foreign country with just the two of you. Key is to get away quick like you did
I totally agree with you. My fellow Polynesian men from the South Pacific behave exactly how you mentioned when they travel out of their homeland and encounter foreign men who have very different ideals and manners . . I actually feel so sorry for Lahiru being his first time travelling abroad and experiencing men behaving very different to what he is used to in Sri Lanka.

Lovely video, but please be careful. Srilankans are more polite when dealing with foreigners. Had the same experience. Hope you get back to sri lanka safe. Love you both.❤❤
If you're curious, watch this video until the end. It somewhat mirrors the experiences tourists have in Sri Lanka. (However, experience in Sri Lanka tends to be better than in India). This video illustrates how a country can face embarrassment globally due to the behavior of its people. What these guys experience in India and subsequently showcase to the world, similarly, tourists who visits our country may do the same about Sri Lanka. It begs the question: What's the value of boasting a 2500-year history if we can't effectively showcase it to the world? Treat your guests well. .. Safe travel home guys....
It's not a fair comparison, Sri Lanka is thousand folds better for Europeans, Australians and North Americans. You do find an odd guy but that's random everywhere. But India they F****g drive you mad. I tell em off in raw filth in an aggressive way. I read what indus 2059 has written. I think its best you dont engage in any conversation if thats possible but i see some people just keep following. I actually got a headache with level of noise pollution. But your video will help many to avoid mishaps
My experience is different. I was reporting to Indians for almost ten years. You find very nice people rarely in India. 90% is bad. That's why the country is like that. In the other hand Google, Adobe, Microsoft all CEO'S roots are from India. The gap is so high in the community. Indians love to visit sri lanka
Not with a terrible economy and inflation where 80% of people live below poverty level. NOTHING is manufactured in SL not even a pin or a needle whereas India not only manufacture automobiles, trains etc but also space crafts. Guess people in SL don’t even know that they are living on borrowed money from other nations. Waterways in SL are so polluted that the waters are black in color and has a thick consistency that fish cannot survive. On city roads the uneven walkways are falling apart with broken concrete and exposed man holes and drains carrying polluted waste including human and toxic waste and the stench is unbearable. So don’t point your finger at India when you are in a worse situation.
Oh my mighty frrriendd can you me a favourrr .please forrrget our debt.oh I think you see ourrr main greeeen fertilizer manufacturing lake middle of colombo.last year some of bad idiot peoples (who responsible to current economy situation)bathing verrry well.
I am south indian.. i am so afraid to travel north india... There was an infamous rape case from delhi many years back following which some students conducted a survey within drivers and common delhi people .. wat they said was shocking.. she was alone .. out late at night ..she was asking for it ..
Rule of thumb: the best places to visit in India are the unpopular places. I am from northeast India and it is too much for me to take it in most of north India. Go to the Himalayas, the mountains of the eatern and western ghats, the rural places..that's where the real beauty is.
They do that because they want money so I have friends who recommended me to not answer and go straight because they will do that all the time. It's the way it is. I am sorry that you feel overwhelmed in India. The noise is also part of it. India can be good or bad depending how you see it. It gets you out of your confort zone but it can give you a lot on the spiritual journey. It depends what you are looking for. Sometimes we think with our western ways but India is very different and differs from other countries in that aspect. I hope that you will enjoy the rest of your trip and will go through the inconvenient nicely.
I completely agree, we are embracing the madness, and knew to expect it also, whilst we were planning our trip here 🙂. I understand these people are only trying to make a living, of course they need money to survive, but there's also a limit to that, and I think it's important to still show respect and kindness for others. I've travelled. a lot of India in the past, and some of the places i've visited have been absolutely incredible, and I hope we can return again in the near future to explore other parts (that are not Delhi and Agra 😉)
The more I see harassment you showed in Agra and even in Jaipur, the more I feel blessed to be here in SriLanka, of course though we’ve piled up with scammers and utterly uncouth behavioural patterns of fellow SriLankans lately. Hope both of you’d get well soon. I agree with someone here, that friendliness and smiles should be minimal when one spots troublemakers and pests. I also agree that Lahiru being quiet and laidback is the best way to avoided further aggression because, they just seem to be waiting for Lahiru to be provoked to get into a worse conflict. I’ve seen and read how women have been tortured in the past, by crazy men there. The best thing would be to always be at places where crowds are, than being at isolated areas without a proper guide. Utter a stern, but a decent NO, and move away asap. I also give a generous tip to kind Pick Me/ Uber drivers who don’t demand, but oblige to go the extra mile. 🥰
Heaven and hell both can see inside in india. Some people are so bad. Some places are so dirty. Thats why i hate to travel in india. Some time we face most ugliest situations same like lucie and lahiru. May be worst experience in our life time. Be safe lucie and lahiru. Lahiru is so innocent but he is strong enough to care about lucie.

Wow, those interactions must have been pretty scary! I’m glad that Lahiru was there and that you’re an experienced traveller, because many would have been scammed pretty badly.
Try and have some fun guys... Hope lahiru is better now..
Just a small suggestion.. Should have selected a little bit tourist friendly country as the first trip for lahiru. Maybe Malaysia or Singapore.
Yes I should have done 😛 We hope to go to Malaysia/Borneo in April, so hopefully Lahiru will have a better travel experience then 😃
Singapore is visa free for Sri Lankans ❤
Love India, visited there in November

Lucie, please ignore these guys who bother you, do not say a word look the other way. In any country or new place one must be cautious, even in western countries. lookback to see if anyone is following you from behind, if a suspicious person in front come towards you cross to the other side- these what I did when travelling - do so even in Sri Lanka or in UK.
As an Indian thumb rule: never engage. Be very cold and ignore them. Pretend as if they dont exist. That's the way.
Next time do visit south India... Where it is not too chaotic, crowded like North india
Chennai? Madurai? Kanyakumari? Trivandrum? Bangalore? Andhra Pradesh? YOU DREAMING!!!
220 Officer and Policemen in the JAIL for Rap 18 women's! This is INDIA! 😱
Same $h!th0le bro. Nobody should go there! 💩
U should be careful when visiting uncivilized countries
You have to be careful travelling in unknown countries Lucy🙏
Can't you just be rude to these persistent people and tell them to buzz off, when NO doesn't work?
OMG.I will never go to India.
Or my God i always thinking go india tuktuk tour but waching you guys no-way go without group.😢
This happens in many countries... Sri Lanka is the same.

Many indians are like that auto guy and its a reality expecially in north India 👍
As an Indian I'm feeling sad😢
So Scarry to go with tuktuk be careful
Suggestion - wear a pair of earphones and pretend you don’t hear them, just to avoid unnecessary interactions. Always helps on my travels. Best
Isn't Sri Lanka heavenly, Lucie?
In comparison to India, yes, it's more than a heaven my dear..

Go to south india , people food everything nice 🎉im sinhala but tamil people kind hearted and always smile😊
We went to Chennai, but unfortunately didn't have time to visit other parts of south India, but we will be back for sure 🙂
Why did you select India as Lahiru's first oversea experience .
There's normally 2 types of toilets on the trains, western style or Indian style.
India❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Egypt is similar, and if they didn’t harass I would visit their shops and buy their things, the harassment makes me run!
Happy New Year Lucie and Lahiru
I like to watch your videos.Happy new year to both of you
Hi Lucie , I am from South part of india which is in kerala. Please visit kerala if you have time. If you need any help I can arrange as I am in uk now. But I can help you. You can have backwater house boat experience if you go there.
Thank you kindly, we didn't have a chance to go to Kerala this time, but we hope in the near future to get there 🙂

Hi!Lucie it's nice you coming nearer to us as we are not far from the place you are visiting you may or may not have heard of my place it's the seven sisters state located in the north eastern part of India I can say 90 percent of us are Christian and my state is known as nagaland is a hilly place how nice will it be if you visit our place too.Dont get me wrong even if I mention about your wonderful husband it's a positive thoughts from me as you are such a wonderful human as you made Lahiri a wonderful human and husband nurturing him from scrap to a dynamic being ,may you too live upto your old age.God bless take care.
We would love to visit that part of India one day 🙏🏼
I read what indus 2059 has written. I think its best you dont engage in any conversation if thats possible but i see some people just keep following. I actually got a headache with level of noise pollution. But your video will help many to avoid mishaps
This is so scary....!!
Such a beautiful country India 🇮🇳 ....👌
So disappointing about the haggles 👎
What are you talking about ? It's an absolute $h!th0le 😅😅
Love from srilanka ...it's me chathulika 😍🇱🇰
India has so much air pollution, they are renaming Mowgli to Smogli.
Plz visit South India
Thats why I hate when people compare Sri Lanka with India. Sri Lanka is far more better than India.

I am south indian.. i am so afraid to travel north india... There was an infamous rape case from delhi many years back following which some students conducted a survey within drivers and common delhi people .. wat they said was shocking.. she was alone .. out late at night ..she was asking for it ..

Please come back to srilanka soon for your safety ..😢😢🙏🙏🙏
I feel you are not safe there..🤔🤔🤔
Heaven and hell both can see inside in india.
India is not good place to visit 😮😮 come back lucie & lahiru to my beautiful country sri lanka ❤❤
Nice video.. And just want to ask, if that uber guy made you insecure then did you complaint about it to Uber? Because it is a serious matter. Moreover, you should also complaint it to the local police station.
