that is my dream fish right here northern pike on the fly ... you got to love a fish that can desinagrate a fly like they can . man i love that fish ...................
I hava a question: Those deer hair poppers they use ( i think they are called wahlberg diver).... i've heard they are really fragile. Is it true? How many pikes can i catch with one of those before the fly is completely destroyed?
Great movie,it would be nice to have parts of the movie without background music though, to get the feeling of being out in the nature without distractions which i personally like when im out fishing.
SEE004_01:UPPM-Universal Does anybody know what this song is called? Seriously, I'm confused and I wanna listen to it without having to watch a video . . . :/
Wow, i'm so jealous! In Poland average pike is between 40 and 60... centimeters, not inches :D I was catching them with #6 flyrod and it's fun. But 55inches?! MADNESS! Respect :)
I thought Pike fishing was alive and well in all the parts of Europe within their range? Their genetics, forage bases and environments are supposedly better than those North America
@StickyRig In eastern and southern Europe almost every fish that's caught gets killed and eaten. North west of Europe there is more catch and release and thus more big fish
+Tiverton69 I think many people don't get excited about pike is because they don't really run very far for their size. A big brown trout or steelhead that is 12 - 15 pounds is going to run all of your fly line and at least 50 yards of the backing, and more than once. Pike might take the fly well but as I saw on this video none ran more than 40 feet of line..
It looks like you're just using flouro leaders. No bite guard? With the way these wolves engulf the fly, I'd be a bit scared of donating a lot of flies! Oh and Renato, they're called Dahlberg divers.
This fishing is amazing and all, but you need to learn some serious release skills. That fish was out of the water way to long and you continued to pick it back up for no reason. Once you get a picture and measure it let it go. A fish like that can collapse from its own body weight out of the water.
I got muskie huntin' in the blood.... But I can respect the sh*t out of this video. And not to knock it at all, but I bet some of those fish would hit a literal stick if it was skippin atop the water! Just BIG fish though. Jeez.
have you ever tried grabbing a pike anywhere else? mouths full of teeth, if youre releasing you arent gonna grab em by the gills.. the tails the best place to grab it you goon lol
There is zero harm in grasping a pike this way. It's the same way most salmon fisherman hold the fish prior to release. way better than hanging them vertical from the gill plate which can cause internal organ damage
Amazing fish, in a beautiful setting but you guys are professionals right? So how many god damn times are you going to stick your hands in the fishes gills and pull it out of the water. The fish aren't your personal property so you should be more considerate of them, the enjoyment they give you and also, that some other people might like to catch some of these fish except they're dead because they got gill rot after being poorly handled by a selfish dumbass.
Grnsk I've been fishing since I was 6 - tuna, flounder, stripped bass, trout, pike, pickerel, pumpkin seeds, sharks, squawfish, carp, suckers, bluefish, steelhead - I'm 40 now and lesson number one is never put your hands inside the fish if you want to release it, it's a bad habit and lower mouth-gill plate or not, it's a good way to transfer harmful bacteria to the fish in it's most vulnerable spot. If you're going to eat the fish no problem how you handle it but if you're going to release it then give it the best chance of survival.
mdschmog Didn't know that bacteria can be transfered, but there are studies from Sweden that show that the "gill" grip is much to prefer over other ways of landing fishes. What would be an alternative better way to do it?
that is my dream fish right here northern pike on the fly ... you got to love a fish that can desinagrate a fly like they can . man i love that fish ...................

our pike here in michigan are defiantly not that aggressive, i catch them here and their but if i was to try on a fly rod i don't know if i could.
Total Guitar by Tony Hallinan is the best jockrock ever.
Please help me out.
What is the formula to calculate this fish? And how to measure it...
that green fly is deadly
Great movie,it would be nice to have parts of the movie without background music though, to get the feeling of being out in the nature without distractions which i personally like when im out fishing.
Hi - what wire trace are you using - it looks super flexible and thin? Great hit shot, thanks

SEE004_01:UPPM-Universal
Does anybody know what this song is called? Seriously, I'm confused and I wanna listen to it without having to watch a video . . . :/
Why dont you use the gill grip? its a lot simpler to land the fish then.
great video, thanks for posting !
what month and days was this trip filmed?
Awesome video! What fly did you use?
Wow, i'm so jealous! In Poland average pike is between 40 and 60... centimeters, not inches :D I was catching them with #6 flyrod and it's fun. But 55inches?! MADNESS! Respect :)
Marcin Pisarski do you still have any pike left in Poland?
I thought Pike fishing was alive and well in all the parts of Europe within their range? Their genetics, forage bases and environments are supposedly better than those North America

Thank you Man that so Nice

very good video so sorry when Latvia at us, it can not catch pike at you that there simply carries impressive especially to incite a fishing rod
super
Where is this? :)
nice to watch. but seems that in these places too many to hungry pikes. VERY EASY to catch. So yes- nice fish-but no deal to get them...
Sa,c'est pas chez nous en se moment ( Loire atlantique) car le brochet est déclaré absent pour l'instant
Don't forget, setting the hook with a pike is not like setting a hook for a trout!
I wish we had more other fish than pike in saskatchewan it is the most common fish which blows!!!!!!!!
+Tiverton69 Actually we have to travel more for walleye and lakers they arnt as common as u think.

***** Yep, I understand and if I had a good pike fishery within a 100 miles of where I live I would target them too.
Pike on the fly oh ya is that old indian land
I need this
nice
Im always in the wrong water
I guarantee that will be sooner rather than later.
It looks like you're just using flouro leaders. No bite guard? With the way these wolves engulf the fly, I'd be a bit scared of donating a lot of flies! Oh and Renato, they're called Dahlberg divers.
almost like the ones i catch
I have been fly fishing since i was 10 and i'm 15 now. And i fish pike alot on fly but i never get any -_-
Does not seem to require a delicate presentation :)

Anyone know how to catch them in winter
Ethan Mcginn: Still on the flyrod but slow retrieval when open water 👍
I got muskie huntin' in the blood.... But I can respect the sh*t out of this video.

cool fishing but the music in the very beginning was a little over dramatic...
Просто крокодилы
This is an abomination. Fly rods are for using dry flies; only casting upstream to rising trout.
Jk...nice catches!
+Orby387 You are kidding right?
Wet flies came before dries, check your history :-)
it cant be calldet fishing and those man cant be called fishers, because there are fishes mor than water...
What??
Better care of the fish is definitely needed.
Vídeo good!music very bad!
Don't think grabbing a Pike by the tail is going to help or care for it! Can't you hold the Pike a better way? Had to say, sorry guys
have you ever tried grabbing a pike anywhere else? mouths full of teeth, if youre releasing you arent gonna grab em by the gills.. the tails the best place to grab it you goon lol

Id rather catch a boot

It's actually not in the gills themselves, and it's the best way and least damaging way to hold pike. Doesn't hurt them at all

Booring! Buy a floattube!
These are musky
They're pike. white spots, dark background. I'm assuming this is either NWT, Yukon, or Alaska. Muskies aren't quite that far north
you need glasses, or a head examination
No, there pike
