Riverhead/Slip Creek 2024 - Long

Second event of the Forest Season here in Auckland - this map is probably the hardest map here. Same location as the JWOC trials a few weeks back, but a long instead of a mid.
A few little mistakes - should have compassed directly to #2 instead of following terrain, and all the tracks at #12 took a little time to get my head around. 2nd today

Very difficult to navigate with all that foliage. I would have a hard time reading the contours.

Agreed - I think you get used to it - it's quite common terrain over here - I do prefer our coastal forests though, much more like the European forests (from the videos I watch)
