Harden has played 120 more games than Steph, but trail him by more than 500 3's. That's actually not even close to as impressive. Harden is at 36.1%. Curry is at 42.8%. The jump in 3 point makes is not due to people chasing the previous players. Analytics became a thing implemented more and more since the 2000s-2010s. They realized the value in evaluating shot attempts by percentages and thus nullified parts of the game, i.e. the crab dribble post up [very rare when used, but still gets a little play].

Vince Carter was a monster. People know him for his dunks but forget he's one of the best 3 point shooters in history. If he played today he'd have 2800 probably
This one is the most fascinating because the game has changed so much. A guy like Jerry West would be a KILLER 3 pt shooter in today's game and his era didn't even have it. Then you've got guys like Bird who would have taken a lot more 3 pointers the way the game is now. Even Reggie Miller probably would take way more 3s if the started over now. Klay Thompson is gonna very likely end up top 5 here, I think he already might be 5th or 6th just since this was made leading the NBA last year.

It's amazing that so many from the previous generation are still in the top 20 (guys that dominated 10+ years ago)
Reggie Miller was good, but I forgot how good. So good he’s still in top 10 even when stopping in 2005-2006
Dirk being on that list is the most impressive
These probably take ages to make awesome job man
Record won't be broken in Steph Curry's lifetime. Every 3 pointer he makes is a new record.
Reggie's record stood for like 10 seasons after he stopped playing, Steph is no way near that level. He is talented, can't argue with that but doing 3s is all of his 'magic' and we have seen Steph in last few seasons not being able to break mental barriers and continue to do the only thing he can do and that is shooting 3s. You can't be consistent and win titles in series by having single star that only shoots 3-pointers. On the other hand Bird's or Allen's impact on their entire teams were massive in comparison.
I think we all waited for the rise of Steph Curry!!🔥🔥🔥
The craziest stat is he’s 0-14 in game winning shots in the playoffs
Stojakovic is Serbian player. Its very insulting to place Croatian flag next to his name.
Eastern Europe, you're either part of NATO/EU or you're not, who cares when you're not part of anything relevant.
And no picture either? WTH, put some respect on Peja's name. He was cold-blooded.
Nash had the South African flag. His family left South Africa for Canada when he was less than 2 years old.
@@Cagon415 this is place of birth, Peja was born in Croatia, he was a Serbian player, but that doesn’t make him suddenly not Croatian, same reason the other guy has a south african flag despite moving to canada at 2
@@curse4384 I'm not really bent out of shape over the flag, as I didn't know any of that. His picture, though? I could find a picture of him right now lol.
Joe Hassett changed the game lol. I love these. Like I was watching when Reggie passed Dale Ellis and became the first real high volume three shooter, but I didn't realize how long Ellis kept making threes and challenging him.
Glen Rice and Thunder Dan you had to watch out for from three also Vince Caryer was underappreciated as a three point shooter. He was more than just an awesome dunker.
Reggie Miller: I got this.
Ray Allen: Hold my beer.
Steph Curry: Hold my keg.
LeBron is really in all of the list of nba records
Yes he sure is, 4th in the 3 points attempt, he just stat pads to include the most nba turnovers and most losses in nba finals 😂 kareem was 6/10 while LBJ 4/10 🫣
@Eco Friendly Kareem requested a trade to the stacked lakers team. He played in a completely different Era.
@@Stimulation334 stacked lakers team? Go check where their standings were and who was on the team before they drafted Magic and later Worthy. Kareem was there all those mediocre years before lakers got better
@@Stimulation334 Lebron has done that his entire career. He joined another dude's team to win ships. His most valid ring is his Mikey Mouse ring.
@@colinrivas3750 lakers would of won the 2020 championship anyways. Remember lakers was a 1 seed and they beat the bucks and the clippers right before covid happened. No team competed well with the lakers. That ring is legit
I was quite surprised about Jason Kidd taking so many threes for his era. And being still amongst that list is impressive!
A lot of great names on that list but I have to J Kidd a lot of credit. He went from not being able to shoot at all to developing a legit 3 point shot.
This is great. Need an update to this every year.
hats off to Darrell Griffith - did not know about his outsized role in the 3pt revolution! 👏
The longetivity pf Reggie of being No. 1 is highly appreciated
Curry came out of nowhere.
Damn the music stuck in my head 😂
We all know Curry is GOAT shooter. I just want to say this vid was exceptionally well done.
Being in the league 12 years then js becoming the goat of the league for a bit is insane
Steph is the best shooter I have ever seen. Off the dribble or catch and shoot. At the same time him and Klay are so good that they destroyed the game. Every team is trying to reproduce their scoring model, and they can't. Nobody can shoot the ball as consistent as those two.
To demonstrate the era thing.
Brook Lopez made 3 threes in his first 8 years in the league. In the next 6 years he made 649. That’s the same amount as Larry Bird’s entire career
Wow!! That really does sum it up.
Stojakovic is from Serbia, not Croatia (whose flag you put next to him). Also, his name is not Peja, but Pedja (or Predrag, which is his full name).
It was cool to see Vernon Maxwell on this list, many people forget he exists. I used to see him driving around Sugar Land, TX (Houston suburb) in a Ferrari Testarossa with the license plate 'MAXXX'
I find it pretty profound how great Vince Carter was at shooting the 3 ball. Under-rated baller for sure.
Yeah, he surprised me the most on this list because he's usually remembered for his athleticism and dunking...
Vince was a much better 3pt shooter than Kobe, for instance. Unbelievable talent.
I believe Carter’s 3 point shooting got better with age as when he was let explosive he’d settle for 3’s and made a whole lot of them.
I have been watching supporting these amazing people and players and sport since the early 1980s I was born in 1977 over 45 years now
Here's the fact if Reggie would have been able to play in today's NBA I believe he may still hold the lead.
deffo proto-curry
No shit because he’d have been playing way longer than curry
@@thunderclaws3341 umm I was just saying to put him in this era not have him playing this long. Reggie was absolutely incredible, but didn't get the green light like today. Him and Ray Allen would have had significantly more threes then they retired with if they where allowed to shoot the 9 3's a game these guys get. I think Dirk would of been higher total wise too. Curry is incredible, however most forget his dad was pretty good as well
it's funny to think Bird only became a 3-point shooter because his back injuries prevented him from being the post-up demon he was early in his career. and now kids only remember him for his 3 😆
James Harden passed Reggie Miller as well? It shows how the NBA is overly relying on 3pt shots, the stats gets bloated
Its nice to see this kind of content
Steve Nash was born in South African but he is Canadian.
Man if steph doesn't miss so much time with injuries he'd be nearing 4k at this point, what a legend
Jamal Crawford Underrated 🔥
Jamal Crawford is about to drop out of the top 10 as Klay Thompson enters the top 10.
Curry came in like a heat seeking missle lol
Man he jumped that board fast as hell lmao
He hit more 3s in 1 season (15)
Than the entire league between 1980-1986
3:41 You guys marked peja Stojakovic as croatien althoug he was serbian
90-91 Michael Adams had the craziest and random prime of all time, dude had 10 assists with 26+ ppg
Steph would be closer to 4000 if he hadn't missed so many games due to injury. The man is a machine.
A machine that is injured a lot...?
@@colonelJ77 injured a lot...he was out with legit injuries last season and there were only two...what are you even talking about?
He is a machine. 3rd best PG of all time.
Happy birthday Stephen Curry 30 fan from Philippines 🥰🇵🇭 3117 3 points in counting record salute 🥰
Harden's rise is about as impressive. Dude was absolutely insane in Houston.
As impressive? Steph has averaged only 9 3pt attempts per year more than Harden. In essence, they have shot roughly the same amount of 3's in their 13 year careers. Harden has played 120 more games than Steph, but trail him by more than 500 3's.
That's actually not even close to as impressive. Harden is at 36.1%. Curry is at 42.8%. Harden would need to make his next 923 3 pointers in a row (without a miss) to reach a percentage of 42.78%, which would still be lower than Curry.
@@AndYouAre exactly, Harden is a product of just chocking up 3s for the hell of it despite being an avg shooter. His play style was literally 3s and layups only. Analytic Harden tried to emulate Steph and couldn’t.
@@NoLongerGrilling
Trey Young has been worst. He has a career 35.5% average. After 4 years, he has attempted 600 more 3's than Curry, but only has 65 more makes. That means Curry made almost 10% more 3's (45.4%).
Some think Trae could catch Curry in volume, but Curry's slowest years were his 1st 4 years, and Trae only has 65 more. Curry has make around that many in a calendar month. Trey would need to average 276 3's per year for the next 9 years just to be on par with Steph after 13 years... Thats without injury.
How unlikely is that? No player has made more than 270 3's in 4 consecutive seasons outside of Steph, and only 2 other players in history has made more than 270 3's more than once in their careers. Trey has never made more than 233 3's in any given year.
@@NoLongerGrilling dude is not average shooter what are u on
@@aperson6966 for the NBA he is
This list is very surprising. Not the obvious names but names like Kyle Lowry in the all time list, Jason Terry I was like wow! Top ten all time 3's at one point!?
Honestly if ray Allan and Reggie played in the shoot 3s more than anything else league that we watch today idk if it would been be close.. curry would still be chasing 3rd
I knew Mark Price would be here somewhere at some point. What an underrated player that guy was.
Curry may well hit 5000 3pts before he hangs em up.
Do you think he will play until 45 yo?
@@danieldbdb He's 34. If he plays 5 or 6 more years, 5000 is very possible
@@foreverbooked2964 nope, it’s unlikely. Considering that Curry averaged about 320 3’s per season, he would reach about 4700 ish. 5000 is possible for sure but unlikely, especially since he will start regressing with age.
@@unspeakablyawesomebros3392 unlikely, yes. Possible, also yes.
The speed at which Steph and James Harden ran up the list is crazy. Literally raining 3s.
What is your background music
Reggie and Ray Allen will always both be 3 point leaders.
Yo I never realized Reggie Miller had such a far lead for such a long time
a good shooter and great longevity.
This was too entertaining to watch
*I’m surprised Kobe was there at one point.*
I never watched him play but people say he was hitting logo shots before it became a trend.
He was. He used to have the record for most threes in a game too before steph broke it.
He took the fadeaway jumper beyond the 3-pt line too. Nobody does it consistently anymore, it's mostly stepback.
I said the same thing about Vince carter.
@@onurbole7921 I see steph and klay doing it sometimes, along with tatum but for the most part it’s side steps and step backs. Kobe just liked shooting over people. Now imagine kobe with a step back...
No he wasn’t. That’s exaggerated. He hit a few further back here and there
It’s crazy how you can see how much better players have become because every one’s records where continuously got beat by the next group of players. I understand rule changes helped and game plans.
Simply analytics lead to teams increasing 3 point attempts over long 2s and this spurred the increase of players 3 point attempts and makes.
@@CloudK23 I know that’s why I said I know the game plans have changed.
Klay will be on this list soon.
As of this comment, Klay is about 40 three pointers away from entering the top 10 of all time.
That was dope! Every second.
Kinda insane how fast he achieved the record and even more crazy that he still has a lot of gas left in the tank potentially. That record might just be unbreakable like Lebron's scoring record.
It gonna be so high when he retires. He not a normal 35 year old.
Vince Carter was a monster. People know him for his dunks but forget he's one of the best 3 point shooters in history. If he played today he'd have 2800 probably
So Curry is averaging 200+ 3pointers every season?
This one is the most fascinating because the game has changed so much. A guy like Jerry West would be a KILLER 3 pt shooter in today's game and his era didn't even have it. Then you've got guys like Bird who would have taken a lot more 3 pointers the way the game is now. Even Reggie Miller probably would take way more 3s if the started over now. Klay Thompson is gonna very likely end up top 5 here, I think he already might be 5th or 6th just since this was made leading the NBA last year.
Craziest thing to me is seeing harden. He'll finish 2nd all time not bad sir
This list ends in 2003. 2004+ is the no-defense NBA and all scoring stats are skewed. It is not the same game. Reggie Miller is the all time actual defense NBA 3-point leader.
Steph slowly came up the board and passed them all. Greatness at the max. The only one that can break that record is Canon, so roll the red carpet out now because by age 6 he will break stephs record in his dreams....😁😁😁😆😆😆
Seeing Kobe just stop is depressing as hell
