Cali5556, I believe she sang along with the recording, with the Mic off. But, she sang it 100% live here; th-cam.com/video/L3FdTKhzZWU/w-d-xo.html. I also believe she was lip syncing on Soul Train, The Merv Griffin Show, and certain foreign shows, due to protocol.

Pretty sure the NFL required all performers (inc. the accompanying orchestra) to mime to a prerecorded track that night, as to make sure everything was perfect for the viewers at home.

Corey Rusko, Rickey Minor, her band director, said that he convinced Whitney to use a recording, because of the crowd noise.

This is my favorite vocal era of hers. It has the right amount of thickness, a sneaky growl, and massive amounts of vibrato. And her tone this era is at its finest in my honest opinion.

Yeah, but that transition doesn't sound like the graceful, all-powerful Whitney Houston of yore; it sounds abrupt, like she cleared her throat or something; you see Mariah Carey acting the same way now when she cant hit her trademark whistle notes anymore. Yes. I recognize that shes dancing....or "dancing"....and all, but yeah, her voice was starting to show cracks here.

Yvette Renee I love 1:59 when she does the hip turn and says the yeah yeah yeah part. And the run at the end. She should of.done it with Michael Jackson.

Comedy Talk Radio, Yes, that was nice. 😊 I like her alone for this particular song. But, they would've made a great song together.

Of all her wonderful songs, this is my favourite. I think I like the message.
If only she had been that strong person herself.
I listen to her ballads playing on the car radio, and never fail to think what a beautiful voice she had.
Not sure anyone since can touch her.
    What a bloody shame.......
