The one thing I absolutely love about Bernard Sumner's voice is that you can tell it shifts off tune often. But for some reason it just fits. I think of New Order when I hear it and I love it, not many vocalists can get away with that.
56 years old and sings like this still. I have been a New Order fan since 1985. I was right then, and I am still right today. I know that Mr Sumner is 56 because we where both born on the same day.
Exactly! It’s not about being pitch perfect, it’s about the emotion. He didn’t start as a singer, he was the guitar player for Joy Division. New Order rose from the ashes of the tragedy of Ian Curtis’s suicide
🔴. Una excelente Canción pero hay que decirlo Realmente pésima la interpretación . Qué diferencia con la Voz de Neil tennant . ...Eso sí que es Calidad ❤ Neil tenant es el único Cantante que se oye igual que como en Studio ❤
Bizarre Love Triangle was a full blown electro dance hit, but here we see that a even strip down to a few acoustic guitar the song still works. Great songs work no matter what the arrangement. I think it would work with a Kazoo orchestra.
MTV should've given the New Order an "Unplugged" special. Then again, I can think of a lot of electronic bands that should've gotten an episode of Unplugged. 1. Information Society (An acoustic version of "Repetition" = Awesome) 2. Erasure (Would've worked perfectly) 3. Depeche Mode (No problem) 4. Pet Shop Boys (Oh Yeah!)
First thing I thought when I heard the acoustic chords, it's a blatant rip! I half expected Barney to start "I used to rule the world". Damn every part of that arrangement fits!
Aw man thank you for letting me discover this. One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Opens the floodgates of emotion current and distant. Wonderful guitar work.
Many years ago I said to somebody that I will have this song play in my funeral, and now it has been at least 30+ years later I have not changed my mind.
God it’s beautiful this way too. I listened to New Order a lot when I was young , saw them way back then, loved them (and I loved Joy Division before). It’s good to hear this.
Its literally the opening to bizarre love triangles. Reminds me of the scene from the princess bride “You’re trying to kidnap what I’ve rightfully stolen.”
Bernard is amazing... his voice is so wonderful!!!! Long live to Joy Division... Long live to New Order... and now Long live to Bad Lieutenant!!!!!!! Bravo!!!!!!
It's BAD LIEUTENANT! Love it. Like the opening bars, a bit of Viva La Vida... Used to be good live, used to play a bit of BL, bit of New Order and Chemical Brothers's OUT OF CONTROL live
He has such a unique voice. Not just off tune thing but a very distinctive sound. I love his vocals with and without Neal Tennant (whom I also love) in the group Electronic
Should have added the acoustic bass as well and in an acoustic studio surrounding. It would have sounded awesome and overwhelming...with an English accent.
@97pook i know it's a new order song, and bernard and phil were originally from new order, but it's bad lieutenant that's playing the song here, seeing as it's bernard, phil and jake, which makes up bad lieutenant.

His mate Ian Curtis did
Thank you for that, guy
I know, right? He's like a great singer who yet can't actually sing. It's marvellous.
Some people are just blessed..
Well he sang this better than any live performance I’ve seen. He seemed more relaxed.

His voice is perfect actually. What you hear is what you get. He's being himself, that's why it always works.

The intro made me think it was Viva La Vida
Me, too ;-) .
He changed the song intro on purpose to give the impression the song was a ripoff, which is rather pathetic.
Not a chance
@@justaguy1451 no way, the video was uploaded before viva la vida album got released
@@justaguy1451dumbest shit I’ve ever read😂😂😂
thats why new order is the greatest band of the 80s.
they mix kraftwerk and joy division and turn it into this perfection
What a fucking comment. This is spot on.
Um...New Order is Joy Division. They reformed after the death of their lead singer.
Always loved New Order. Its good to hear Bernard after all these years... this music is still, absolutely so relevant and needed.
same haircut since 1980
If it ain't broke...
Oliver Gallimore truth
1977 remember joy division
Maybe so but at least he still has all his hair. ;) I think he looks great.
I had the Barnie / blonde highlights 'do in 1987. I certainly couldn't choose the same hairstyle again with the little bit of hair I have left now😆

Frente! Check out their version from around ‘95 one acoustic and a beautiful voice, all you need…
Frente: Bizarre love Triangle…Bam
Mi gran me encanta new order saludos desde Bolivia un fan ramiro concha🇧🇴🤗👌🤩😎
He never had the most fantastic voice, but he is a fucking artist.
Every time I see you falling...I get down on my knees and pray
One of most beautiful love songs I ever heard.

seems that coldplay took a bit from this song...
not unusual
Damien viva la vida 😆
i can hear it now that you've mentioned it.
First thing I thought when I heard the acoustic chords, it's a blatant rip! I half expected Barney to start "I used to rule the world". Damn every part of that arrangement fits!
Yeah, it really sounds like that christmas song they play
I think his voice is accessible to us all. It could be any one of us singing, I like that.
Maybe my favorite song of all times! In any version. electro or acoustic, cover...

Best dance song ever. Definitely in the team picture for best song of all times.
Same OMG🌈✨💕
Such a beautiful song.
25 years later,i have fallen in love all over with New Order.please come to SA
Jayshree Narshi fell in love with the band one year ago !! It is has became so important for me
Aw man thank you for letting me discover this. One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Opens the floodgates of emotion current and distant. Wonderful guitar work.
wow this version surprisingly blew me away ❤️
I started learning to play guitar because of this song.
Many years ago I said to somebody that I will have this song play in my funeral, and now it has been at least 30+ years later I have not changed my mind.
Bernard's voice is far from perfect but I cannot imagine anyone else singing it and it fitting as well
God it’s beautiful this way too. I listened to New Order a lot when I was young , saw them way back then, loved them (and I loved Joy Division before). It’s good to hear this.
Amazing guitar work. Great sound, concept and performance. Thanks!
Bernard Sumner it's my favorite singer ever!
El himno de toda una generacion....
Maybe my favorite song of all times! In any version. electro or acoustic, cover...
Fantástico
Thank you for the music Bernard Sumner & the rest of New Order!
First time I heard the original of this, I loved it. And I've loved it every time since.
Wow Bernie not playing his guitar. Isn't it rare? And his vocal skills have super improved over the years.
Jus' Trollin' I've always like Bernard's unorthodox vocals . He was pretty much dragged into singing and made it his own over these many years .
vasp99 Yeah.. what if Ian's still alive...
The vocals were 'double tracked' on the original but Bernard cant sing and 'sing' at the same time in a live context
Both Sumner and Hook cant play guitar and sing at the same time.
What an absolute acoustic treat - excellent stuff
I love his voice❤
perfect
Beautiful performance!
This acoustic version beginning sounds more like where Coldplay got the idea for Viva la Vida than that Satriani song.
Too beautiful....
Bernard, thank you so much for your contribution.
Classic! Totally digging this version.... "That's pretty " spot on !!!
I Love New order 🥰
Man this sounds great on acoustic
Que versão... Linda de mais.
I´m pretty amaze about the sound quality , and bernard always was a great musician and singer ... Bravo!
Its literally the opening to bizarre love triangles. Reminds me of the scene from the princess bride “You’re trying to kidnap what I’ve rightfully stolen.”
very interesting. the synths usually make this song for me but this is still fantastic in acoustic.
What a great version.
Magnifique version acoustique!!!Merci
It's definitely Classic.
amazing. Beautiful.
Beyond praise!
Wow after hearing this version, there is no way Coldplay can say they did not steal the music.......WOW
Why all the hate in the comments section? Beautiful song by an amazing gentleman called Bernard.... Surely that's all that needs to be said.
Royal road chord progression is why this song was such a huge hit.
Maestro!!!!
Bernard is amazing...
his voice is so wonderful!!!!
Long live to Joy Division... Long live to New Order... and now Long live to Bad Lieutenant!!!!!!!
Bravo!!!!!!
Great song!
Perfect!
Great job guys!
What would the world be without your voice, Bernard....
Now I know where Viva la Vida came from.
I used to rule the world. Seas would rise when I gave the word. Now in the morning I sleep alone. Sweep the streets I used to own
Barney you're still a legend
In his own mind
It's BAD LIEUTENANT! Love it. Like the opening bars, a bit of Viva La Vida...
Used to be good live, used to play a bit of BL, bit of New Order and Chemical Brothers's OUT OF CONTROL live
Que temazo .. siempre me gustó y ahora lo escucho mejor.. 😄

The acoustic guitars make the opening sound a lot like "the good life" by weezer. I never thought of these two songs as being similar in any way.
