    The year is 2032. Tomlin is still the head coach in Pittsburgh. Steelers finish 9-9 (18th game will be added) and the no losing regular season record intact. Still no playoff wins since the year 2017. Rich Eisen is still pounding the desk saying how great Tomlin is.

    People say 'the offense reverted back to.... the defense fell apart... no O line.... no pass game.... no ground game.... And it's all true, how did it all go away? That's what's not being said. Instead, they say 'maybe Tomlin should move on'. What they don't say is the reason all these things are happening all at once like a ton of bricks is because the team has quit on the coach and there is nothing that can be done to repair it. There, now it's been said, the Steelers quit on Tomlin and looked like poo poo doing it. Tomlin gotta go.

    Rich is only 5-7 years behind most Steelers fans. Only difference is Mike Tomlin is no where near the caliber of Andy Reid as a coach. As a leader and motivator hats off he does the job better then anyone there but gmae planning and development of talent (both coaching and players) he hasn't had it. the only time he had success was when the OC(Bruce Airians, Todd Haley) and DC(Dick Labue) had control of their groups. People fear an Andy Reid game plan, were as people scratch their head at a Mike Tomlin game plan. You can say "look at the players he had to work with these last few years he's been dragging them to winning seasons". TOMLIN IS THE ONE WHO DRAFTS/SIGNS AND (IS SUPPOSE TO) DEVELOP ALL THESE GUYS. This is just frustrating to be stuck in this Groundhogs day loop of no hope.

    Im a Steeler for so long that I cant even remember when I was not...40 years have gone by. I made my son a Steeler 10 years ago and we went to the see them play several times (all losses by the way, at home) and now Im sick and tired of giving my son reasons to be a fan of this team that has lost its mojo and no longer plays a part for the SuperBowl fight. We just don't care (in Tomlin words) about having winning seasons, and yes, continue to be humiliated year to year by teams in the PlayOffs and in regular season by mediocre teams that come out to play minute one of the game and we don't show up.
    My son is tired of the Pittsburg Steelers year to year failure, and quite honest, all the fan base that I know, including me.
    Finally, I believe many of our talented players are too!

    The Steelers last playoff win was against the Chiefs where they 18-16 and didn't score a TD and kicked 6 FGs. This caused the Chiefs to trade up and draft Patrick Mahomes. I remember being miserable after that loss thinking will the misery ever end for my team. Now, 3 superbowls later with a potential 4th as they are on the verge of a historic 3peat and the Steelers are in purgatory. Never thought I say this but thank you for that defeat back in the 2016 playoffs, it changed the course of Chiefs history.

    Tomlin has only won a playoff game in 4 seasons out of his 18 seasons as head coach, and it appears Big Ben and Dick LeBeau as defensive coordinator carried Tomlin. Importantly it’s how we lose more than that we lost to a better team. Tomlin’s defenses get smoked in playoffs. Sign of bad coaching.

    Thinking Tomlin can go the way of Reid is kind of funny. Reid is an offensive genius who molded an extremely talented, but raw, QB into a potential GOAT. Tomlin is a pretty good defensive mind who let Randy Fichtner and MATT F*CKING CANADA run his offense for multiple seasons while his defense (with multiple All-Pros at all 3 levels) disappears in every meaningful game. I've said it 100 times; If Tomlin was half as good at putting together a staff/roster/game plan as he was at impressing people like Rich with his witty quips, he'd be one of the greatest coaches ever instead of just the most entertaining. Love Mike T the person, ready to see him coach somewhere else.

  • @IanSane
    @IanSane 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

    The key to success in the NFL is having a good quarterback. The Steelers haven't had one since Big Ben retired. The problem is that Tomlin is too good. Since his Steelers never have a losing record the team is always drafting in the 17-20 range, well after the top QB prospects are taken. Ironically he needs a really terrible season to get the quarterback that will make them serious contenders again. Pittsburgh fans need to be careful for what the wish for here. The Steelers never really suck. There are adult fans who have never experienced knowing your season is a waste of time by October 1. Or knowing it's a waste of time before it even starts because you haven't made the playoffs in years and nothing was done in the offseason to improve. Changing a head coach, not because the team was abysmal but just because they were underachieving in the playoffs, runs the risk of botching the next hire in a serious way and sending the franchise into truly dark times. Though that is a frustrating situation. It's an easier decision to shakes things up if the team is outright bad rather than just not good enough. I figure one part of it that would make the Rooneys apprehensive about moving on from Tomlin is that having only three coaches since 1969 is part of the Steelers brand. It would be extremely damaging if Tomlin's successor doesn't continue the trend. As long as Tomlin continues to win then that high pressure decision on his replacement gets kicked down the road.
