    Hey all!
Wanted to say thanks Biffa for taking the time to fix my city! Loved the meteors at the start! And excited to see where you go with it, truly did not expect this and I am very grateful!
Also, for those who were wondering why the Steam Community link wasn't working under the video (seen a few comments about it and tried it myself): I found the issue! The link posted has an extra digit added at the end. Remove the last 3 and it should work!

I loved this! Please feel free to make this a series of many episodes, if I ever have a say in it. Surely the public transit needs attention, but I think the road spaghetti could do with some more untangling if you will.

  • @tobiasalexander4491

Well this is definitely a fun one! I think half your problem with the dogbone and some of those other interchanges is that you destroyed pretty much all the connectivity across the highway and haven't replaced it yet. Instead, you just have a couple of interchanges. Put more North-south (crossing the new highway) connector/collectors in and I think you'll relieve a lot of the pressure on those junctions. Then sort out the transit...

Sending *all* the traffic via the highway is indeed the biggest issue right now. Give the highway some relief, allow cross connectivity, public transport and walkability, and it will improve massively.

  • @sharpless

These are my connectivity and highway access related suggestions:
    1. The 2-teir T - highway intersection to the left of the map (on the peninsula south of the old airport district) should be changed to 4 way system interchange, with a new full fledged highway crossing the river, and directly servicing the airports, instead of the arterial placed in this video.
    2. The collectors running N-S should have some overpasses(Vanilla overpass Project) to overpass junctions and roundabouts closer to the E-W highway. This will provide tremendous relief to the traffic en route to places far away from the highway.
    3. SPUI is not considered a high capacity interchange (especially ones without slip lanes). Change the SPUI with a PARCLO.
Here are some terrain related suggestions:
    1. Tunnelify the roads which are cutting through weird terraces.
    2. The dog bone should be grounded.

This is clearly the city of a beginner who has been slowly building the roads. This player must have watched a few of your videos regarding lane mathematics but still got overwhelmed by the sheer amount of traffic. More and more roads were added trying to reduce the traffic until the collapse happened. I started pretty much like this, without giving thought to priority, roundabouts, speed limits....It's really nice to see a city coming back to life after being pretty much doomed.

The next thing I'd do is connect the parts of the city, without using the highway. You built it up high so the roads could go underneath it, and then most of the work you've done has been to allow them highway access. Then fix buses, trams, train, helicopters, planes, and whatever other transport solutions are needed. THEN check to make sure the needs of the city are met, and weren't destroyed by meteor strike.

Proper road hierarchy, lots of public transit, huge cargo hubs spread across the city. Yet every single time - traffic everywhere, corpses everywhere, nothing gets moved, people scream at me because they won't get off the road.
Its so frustrating. The AI in Cities Skylines just breaks at a certain point even with all the mods. I wish there was just a 'nuke city' option to wipe it off the map the way it frustrates me.
At least the CS:2 AI seems to be better where traffic adapts to flow. But in CS:1? Its dumber then water. Literally dumber then water. Even when you baby handle it, somehow it still breaks itself.

I can't believe what this person did when they made this city! Sometimes it looked like they weaved roads and tracks around buildings! Among other hawkey-bawkey things. On to the mass transit - new underground & less busses system!

    I liked the opening!
I have this problem anytime I play this map: your prime building land is exactly where these highways are wanting to converge.😢

Man I wish you could work on console cities. I don’t own a pc, and my console vanilla city is starting to break down. I tried submitting it but it wouldn’t let me since I don’t have a steam url.😢😢

Challenge youself with your next fix buy focusing 90% on gitting out of there cars, and must use bus only/shared roads. Stay safe on your new journeys.

In vanilla interchanges are still a mess.
I only can build the Highway over a round about.
And the 2 presets. Not even a small Update for the Next Gen gen Version
    .
So every interchange Looks the same.
And When you try, you get a bowl of Spaghetti Carbonara. Its a waste of time.
So i build alot of Bypasses under ground.
At least you dont have to Look at this mess.
Also The Lane math doesnt really work on alot of Situations.

When the roads on both sides of the highway that you want to connect together are _higher_ than the highway, wouldn't it be easier just to build a great big viaduct across the valley rather than lowering half the city by 100m and leaving side roads so steep you need a ladder? 🤔🤔

Looking at all the mods you've downloaded and I'm wondering if you have one hard drive dedicated to them specifically on your computer. How is this ancient game coping with all of the mods you use?

@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines I'm hoping that Cities: Skylines II will eliminate the need for all these mods.

I wonder how well the post-fix city would do with despawning turned off and the realtime mod active
