Dude, I shared this philosophy. I, too, designed my base around destroying the vending machines. Mine was Hex design with armored windows. You could get 6 vending machines around 3 windows and a single in front of each remaining window. This gave a total of 8 if you doubled the floors you'd get 16. The trick was the raiders would have to destroy a vending machine or raid a wall. If they were dumb they shot rockets inside, taking out everything. The genius was once you gained access, the heartbeat sensor triggered the C4, and boom twig floor is destroyed and takes all the loot with it. Sadly, facepunch being the wusses that they are nerf vending machines so that the drop 30% of the loot stored inside. So now there's no point.
Nice idea but the small box next to the gap between the vending machine and the door frame can be looted from the other side and any bed can be shot through the gap if the raider noticed this it could ruin the bunker.
You can only rotate a vending machine when it is empty, The easiest solution for shooting out the bed would be to place a sleeping bag into the side opposite of the gap. Thank you though, because I forgot about the fact a raider could easily bag into the bunker if they break that bed, which I will look at some fixes for that now and update.
I'd probably go with the sleeping bag+TC option and put a bed elsewhere in the base to save TC depot time. I usually live out of a 2x1 bunker so I can imagine people would be salty to find this 1x1 tucked in to it. Nice vid
I tested this, and the vending machine sometimes is standing and sometimes destroyed, however if the vending machine is left standing, which would let them bag through, they still spent the cost of the armored wall.
If they c4 the door frame and place a sleeping bag behind the vending machine yes. But if they don't throw the c4 perfectly, it seems to break the vending machine as well sometimes. There are issues that I realized after uploading that I will update them soon

Wait if you have TC you can just flip the vending machine and loot. Why not just snap-place the vending machine and save the trouble?

with the vending machine being free hand doesn't that mean you could c4 the door frame and the vending machine would still be standing?
