"A deal could have been reached before, time for a deal is always, there is no question about it and the negotiators care about lives, they care about human lives. We know Hamas, Hamas cares nothing about lives and it decorates death with tunnels around him, he (Hamas) likes death, the problem is that our government that's supposed to care about lives, is playing the same game as Hamas. It looks like: who kills more? Hamas or our government?"

STORYLINE:
Protesters took the streets of Tel Aviv on Saturday demanding the Israeli government seal a deal for the release of the hostages in captivity in Gaza.
As happens every week, thousands of people - including relatives of hostages - gathered to protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the way he has handled the war against Hamas and the hostage situation.
Efrat Machikawa, relative of 80-year-old Gadi Moses who is still in captivity, said Netanyahu was "again and again and again sabotaging the deal."
"We call for a deal, we call for the end of the war, the end of any killings," she added.
Leaders of the United States, Egypt and Qatar have jointly demanded Israel and Hamas return to stalled talks on the war in Gaza next week, saying that “only the details” of carrying out a cease-fire and hostage release remain to be negotiated.
Critics of Netanyahu accuse him of slow-rolling talks to end the war in Gaza, which began Oct. 7 when Hamas-led militants attacked southern Israel, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping about 250 others.
Netanyahu's far-right allies have resisted calls for a cease-fire, with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich calling the latest proposal a “dangerous trap" that amounts to an Israeli surrender.
Of the hostages taken, 105 were released during a weeklong cease-fire in November, in an exchange for 240 Palestinian prisoners.
"We know Hamas, Hamas cares nothing about lives" he said.
