That line of, "We're shooting a Fincher movie on the top floor and a Raimi movie under the house," is so great.
Went in blind and LOVED the movie 👏
Imagine if you had been able to see!
That's the Only way to do it. I haven't watched a trailer in over a decade.
I followed your advice and kept my eyes closed for it... really ruined my viewing experience. Thanks a lot :(
@@BryanMoyer-l1q next time go in deaf as well
Adding this to my "Watch Later" queue after i've seen the movie. Later skaters
This movie was insane. I only saw the trailer once and i could’ve never guessed the direction it would take. It’s like two or three separate movies combined.
Zach is super chill. Movie was fucking NUTS
This is the best interview with a filmmaker that I've ever listened to! Both of you had brilliant questions, which also showed that you were clearly invested in the movie, and movies in general!
Thanks for the bonus episode! More power to ReelBlend
I saw this with 3 friends and they all said, “I thought it was gona be scarier.” They were disappointed. But I piped up with, “I thought it was brilliant!” And had a detailed analysis giving my reasons as to why I loved it. This sparked a conversation that lasted the whole 30 minute ride home.
Outstanding interview. Just watched the film the other day on HBOMAX. Enjoyed it. However, I have a new appreciation for it after hearing from the Director. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great interview. Thank you
My girlfriend and I saw this on Disney property in Florida today and I loved it. When we walked out of the theater it was such a crazy change in vibe from Barbarian lol LOVED IT and I'm really glad I saw it in theaters. Love WKUK and Zach is responsible for some of the best laughs of my life, and I LOVE horror so it was a no brainer to support this for me. Really hope all the hype for this movie lets Zach make something with a higher budget next time, cause he'll KILL that too! Good episode guys!
From WKYK to this
Zach is insanely talented as an actor and writer/director
Great interview and insights. Loved the movie.
Holy shit this dude would be my best friend.
Great interview for a great movie!
Wish i could'v seen this on the big screen but it's not playing in my country. I watched it on streaming and made the mistake of having a meal while watching. 😅 I left my food cold. That's how much this movie grabbed my attention.
r.i.p travis
wow zach
This movie was original and a good time! I watch it twice and I have a theory that Tess's job interview, Keith, the rope connecting the basement, the AJ's assault, the homeless man and the police are all an elaborate scam. I hope there is a prequel or sequel to this movie because I have some loose ends I want to answer! For example, who's Marcus? who posted the house on Airbnb? Should have the police officers called back-up or ask her for her ID? This movie is an example that horror movies are cautionary tales!! Will watch again!
I just saw this film and really liked it people always post reviews of movies they’ve just seen on TH-cam not just on tic tok but Iam really interested on seeing him make his own Gotham character film!
Wait is he chilling in VA? I know he said his mom is in Arlington. That’s cool. I used to work in Tyson’s Corner a long time ago.
What was that Batman character in the end? Very interesting. And why it would be the best script?
I think it could be a great series.
This guy went from a villainous frat boy to first time filmmaker
My gf wanted to go see this movie, the trailer looked fun and its October, why not? I watched the entire thing and then Zach's name popped up and I was like "WAIT WHAT, WKUK ZACH?!"
Director kind of looks like Jason Lee from My Name is Earl.
Idk why, but I see a little Ryan Reynolds in his face
@@erikfriis5571 yeah he’s a mix of jason lee + ryan reynolds
its so weird seeing him go from wkuk to a movie like this, thought the movie was great!
he sounds very passionate and energetic. Whats his secret?
god damnit why didnt he talk about whitest kids you know and miss march! he didnt even call them by name!
...Remember when the police showed up and Tess rambled on and on, instead of taking a breath and explaining the issue in a calm manner? She was calm in the tunnels, telling the rapist to be quiet and stay calm, yet she doesnt even follow her own advice when finally she gets the police out there. She could have said "officers, there is a naked woman on drugs who attacked us inside the house. My keys, phone, & ID are in the house. Look, by the door, there is a lock box. I know the code, let me show you. And thats my car parked there. My registration is in there, I have triple AAA insurance, once we get the keys from inside the house, you can check the car and verify what I'm saying. Now let me enter the lock box code, to prove it." Does she explain to the officer that if shes telling the truth and the man dies, there will be a huge lawsuit against them? Nooo. She constantly screams, "Hes indanger! She'll kill him, we have to save him!" And thats it. Remember when Tess falls off the building, and Barbarian gramma leaps off the building several seconds after Tess falls, and somehow gets underneath her and Tess lands on top of her and BG brains are splattered everywhere, but BG is still alive? Remember when Tess smashes BG body into the house several times with her SUV, and BG doesn't have a scratch? Remember when Tess asks the homeless guy if they were safe in his hiding spot and he says hes been there 30 years and had no problems- 2 seconds later BG busts through a wall, killing the homeless guy. Yeah I remember how god awful this movie was and how it defied the laws of physics and biology. I laughed and rolled my eyes when I should have been on the edge of my seat. Garbage.
Remember when Tess was set up in the first act to be the most on top of it, questioning, careful, girl you could ever meet and then when she saw the absolutely ridiculous Apocalyptic neighborhood she was in the next morning and DIDN'T grab her shit and leave IMMEDIATELY? Or remember when the cops seemed to completely IGNORE two brand new cars right outside this particular house but still ignored Tess? Or remember when Justin Long somehow manages to fumble and drop the gun? And remember.........THANK YOU for posting your comments. This over-hyped, cliche ridden piece of garbage was laughable at best.
This movie is made for people with not a lot of movie watching experience. If you have high cinematic standards every single plot point that the writer/director presents as a twist really just plays as the same old predictable (and sometimes laughably boring) tropes. No real surprises here.
Sure David
I’m glad you have “high cinematic standards”
@@TypeLproductions I'n not. If I didn't, I'd be able to blissfully appreciate cliche-ridden trash like this.
You forgot to count all the bitches you dont have n tip your fedora
@@papichulo8749 Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Yes, (I'm a huge horror fan). But... Don't believe the hype. This movie is terrible. It defies the logic of physics and biology, and I rolled my eyes and laughed when I should have been on the edge of my seat. Nice cinematography but the story and script is trash. If this is a comedy, I apologize-- funniest film of the year. As a horror movie? Trash.
