The salt water tank looks awesome. I cant wait to see the progress of it as the fish grow. I enjoy and look forward to each and every video. Thanks.
Love the fish density in this aquarium!
It’s a good day when the king of DIY posts! I’ve been watching you for a few years, keep up the good work! I’ve been keeping aquariums for 9 years and you have inspired me to make my own fish TH-cam channel. Thanks for the motivation, you are the best for real!
the tank looks amazing, I like the algea reminds me of when I went snorkeling in Croatia and the entire sea bottom was an algea meadow. It was magical
🥰I’ve found a new love 😍 great community reef. Don’t get it twisted, if you take your time to watch these tiny fish, they have great personalities
Hi Joey - it’s a beautiful tank. That’s a large spike in bioload adding them all at one time. Also you should try to get a rodi system. Please keep an eye on nitrate and if you have it check ammonia too. I know they told you that these are all peaceful fish but I’d just note that damsels and dottybacks can be aggressive and territorial. So just keep an eye out for that as well. It looks like you may have added Anthias. Keep in mind they need to be fed several times a day. Also I know you said you want a copperband, but they are very tough fish to keep. You may want to wait a while and make sure this group settles in before you add it. Also you may want to get a microscope and confirm that’s cyano and not the dreaded Dinos. If either you want to stay on top of it and Syphon out as you see it. Best advice I’d share is research, research, research. Good luck mate!

I would say to cultivate a healthy amount of Copepods like the Tiggers... I would suggest adding some type of Refugium. But as you are making this a bit of a "Planted" aquarium then this should help some. I would have added the Coppies at night though and also double or tripled the population introduced personally.
Damsels are NOTORIOUS for being territorial but, this is Joey and he does things his way.. which is kinda the point. 1st rule in aquarium keeping. What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for the next!
Bro dudes had fish for years I'm sure he doesn't need u as a nobodys 2 cents worth or advise lmfao. You gonna tell the president how do do his job next 😂😅
@@bryceanderson1703joey says he doesn’t need rodi only because he is on a well. Which is not true at all. I think he could use some advice
@@bryceanderson1703he’s a freshwater expert but a saltwater noob as of now
Love that tank, so much color & activity.
Loving this tank so far, and the small fish is great!!!
Beautiful aquarium! You should give us a video of just that tank and fish interacting in it like you used to do with some of the other tanks.
Very nice looking tank . Get some sand sifting starfish for the substrate and Blue & Red leg Hermit crabs.
That’s 100% the best tank av seen you have in your fish room. Nice and simple & look lovely 💙💙
This is only my 2nd time watching you i think you done a great job at picking out the fish your tank is beautifully done and all the fish are popping i like the pink and yellow fish, the cleaning wrasse but my favorites are the fire fish and the blue chromis i love how you have waves in your tank cool tank indeed ❤️🐠🐟🦀
All the fish you chose are perfect. They are gorgeous. Thank you!
That tank looks awesome I like that you gave those fish a lot of room to swim around in and the. Branch rock is also really nice for cover since there isn’t any branch coral in there
The Watchman Goby and apisto shrimp is a good choice.
Try a Dragonet it is a nice Red and White colorful bottom feeder.
And a Star Blenny.
I love the variety. So many colors and shapes. Please keep it as is for a couple years so we can see everything in their adult colors.
The tank is beautiful Joey. Actually surprised at how beautiful the cleaner Wrasse is. Always thought they were sort of a grey / black. This guy's got some gorgeous blues in him. Look forward to seeing this tank mature.
I love the simple, Lively, small beautiful fish!
I dig this tank 100% . i haven't wanted to go salt, but this inspires me
I love these kind of raw videos even if it’s messing around with sponges it’s always fun to watch
Sicce are awesome pumps. Use them on my 225 and 180 very quiet and efficient.
Hi joey the salt water tank is looking nice and i love the fish you stocked it with can’t wait to see your next video 😊
good vid joey. I say show all the odd /weird tricks you have done along the way... I now most of us have tried just about everything along the way. haha
Hi Joey, Sweet set up. The Coral Beauty Angel is my favorite. I tried salt water a half dozen years ago and now I’m pumped to try again.
Great selection
Of new fish
Looks great
Blessings and good luck
Enjoy
From beautiful
California
Joey love the tank love your can't wait for the 20 ft tank to be done
Have you thought of trying the app controllable coloured home light bulbs on your tanks? I haven’t seen anyone on TH-cam use these yet and I can’t understand why… they are cheap, easy to use and the effects and moods you can create are awesome fun and especially as you already have the home downlighting style fixtures.
love the way you stocked that saltwater tank Joey.
Keep it up I’m not equipped with enough knowledge for salt water but I sure do love them!!
tank looks great, I love that you went for the smaller peaceful fish. You should try adding some leather coral, they are super easy to care for too. Some fighting conch will clean your sand bed and eat all those diatoms.
Should add some conch to help keep your sand clean. When your tank matures im sure some starfish and clams would look awesome in there.
that is exactly how I motivate myself on keep on going, shopping for new fish/corals.
It looks amazing joey. Xxx
This really finally tops the rainbow setup you did imo. First time i am appealed to a salt water tank
The way you do saltwater is why you can't keep coral, but that's OK. You do you. 😊
Flasher wrasse are really cool and colorful
Awesome selection
I would love to see a freshwater variant of this same setup. Having a river setup with the same flow would be very cool. The question is, what fresh water fish would thrive in such an environment? If anyone is capable of setting up something like that it is you.
I really love the smaller fish that school. I like the fact that you have friendly fish that get along. I’m like you I love the liveliness.
I love this tank full of smaller fish, they’re all stunning. I do love the cleaner wrasse and goby, also those blue chromis and the purple and orange anthias? How about some purple firefish?
Hi from South Africa Joey, tank looks absolutely stunning.
Chitons and fighting conch would be good additions to the cleanup crew. Maybe a tridacna clam (just do yourself a favor and put it on a rock so it doesn’t glue itself to the aquarium floor)
Hey Joey great tank, if you're looking for cleanup crew members i recommend adding a few fighting conchs, astera snails, marginella snails, and tectus snails. You'll need them sooner rather than later when the diatom outbreak hits.
Great tank! Sand sifting Gobies would do great in your tank.
I never really wanted a saltwater tank with coral but THIS! This is how I would want my saltwater tank to be, I love the macro algae all around the rocks and the normal daylight bulbs instead of those blue coral lights. To me this reminds of nature more then the standard reef tank and if I ever set up a salty tank I'll do something similar to this! beautiful tank joey!
But the fish he put in that tank want Coral some even life in corals
you know i'm so obsessed with corals and coral growth, i never really appreciated how nice the macro algae looks with that branching rock and the stocking plan looks great. the most agressive guy you have in there is that little damsel haha
Six line wrasse and a yellow tang would be my suggestion. Tangs love algae and yellows are eye catching.
Cool video Joey I love your salt water tank. I would love to set up a small salt water tank but I don't know much about it I know just look it up but it still looks complicated
I really want to do a system like this someday, gorgeous tank!
Looks good! I think a few acropora colonies or even one in the midst of the algae would be beautiful. Smaller fish (im sure for the chromis) may take to it as shelter like they do in the wild, and the behavior would be really nice to see
should get some Pearly Jawfish, similar to the yellow watchman, white and teal
Absolutely love it, this is what I want just small fishes that look beautiful with different colours ❤❤❤
10:32 yeah we do that when we are too lazy to get adaptors😂😂
Joey, have ever thought of adding shellfish filter feeder like an oyster, scallop or barnacle? Was thinking a small colony of barnacles could populate the branch stone.
Some Flasher Wrasse would look amazing in this tank!!
I think I saw a naoko's fairy wrasse in there. Totally recommend! They are really fun and it’d be a nice addition
I love the tips and tricks they help alot lol
I love the fish, i cant wait til you get some larger fish for this tank!
Still can't believe how big your channel got, was with you since you had a couple of thousand sub like 300K
When the tank gets way more established you should get a sand sifting Diamond Goby! idk if you know about them but they are amazing characters
Love this tank!
You should add a pair of Harlequin Shrimp . You have to feed them starfish (Chocolate Chip Starfish work great) they are super interesting to watch
I love the long videos ❤❤
Amazing tank....😮😊
ive seen one of those yellow and pink fish in person and they are sooo cool looking
And yet again i didn't even noticed that you were on a break. Maybe all the other content on TH-cam distracted me (btw the tank looks great)
Necessity is the mother of invention!!!
When that algae comes in, if the other fish go out, that would be a dope seahorse tank.
Hey Joey I’m considering getting to saltwater can you make video on how to, for beginners; great tank keep it up love it because of the simplicity of it
what a tank! nice!
I love it!!!! I think it's an awesome tank!!!!!!😊😊😊
Hi Joe paint the top filter white or match the wall color (Love the tank)
That’s is my favourite tank so far, and I’m a freshwater guy. Gotta do one of them myself. PS. First time I’ve heard you use an Canadian “ay” hahaha good stuff
Lovely variety of fish
Oh my gosh yes you should get that yellow angelfish. It was so so amazing plus with that Gobi being yellow. I think it would bring a little bit of yellow in the tank and just look so amazing.
My experience with yellow watchman gobies is that they are JUMPERS. I can’t remember if you have covers for that tank yet or not but you’ll likely need them. I lost 2 yellow watchman’s to jumping. Beautiful tank!
Pięknie to wyglada❤❤❤
You can get ratchet hose clamps for irrigation that are just plastic, and shouldn't have sharp edges.
You need biome Supream in the middle filter box for complete aerobic and anobolic filtration instead of relying on sponges, with a polishing layer ontop, then a carbon sponge, then a medium Spunge, then a course sponge on the very top to catch most of the waste.
I've always wanted to take a large saltwater tank and just have small fish. Looks GREAT!! what's the plant? Sargasm?
Instead of a copper band butterfly you could get 5 or 3 pyramid butterfly fish because they will school and swim around all day and they will be the same size of a copper butterfly and alot easier to keep
11:58 suction cup escape attempt hehe haha
If you want a flagship fish, butterflys or angels. Id personally recommend an emperor angelfish as a juvenile as you will enjoy that crazy mad pattern evolving to completely different.
This is the best saltwater tank in the world for me
Exactly how I like it
I feel like there are a couple of colours missing, however, cool tank!
Question - is the water flow not a little strong? It seems like there is nowhere calm in there, surely having variation would be good?
you could have some anemones in order to confine the clowns. This would liberate space for a bit more of the small damsels, perhaps a group of yellow tails
Amazing tank
So most dwarf angels don’t do super well with other dwarf angels so be careful on that front if you want to keep the macro tank peaceful.
9:50 easy joey we all do that we shouldnt but we gonna do it anyway xD
When buying pods u should temp acclimate to ensure the best success :3 happy reefing guys
Where do you get your big tanks ? And btw that tank how u have it set up with the small fish and seaweed on bottom is awesome 👏
I’d get a handful of wreckfish, will really pop a bit of colour in there
Love it Joey! I may convert my 180 to salt!
Cool tank. If you don't eventually buckle and add a few soft corals (and I hope you do, months from now) please consider at least an anenome or two for the clowns. They'll look better and be so much happier. Look forward to seeing the anthias mature into harems as one of each colony changes sex.
Joey when you in Toronto next
Love it!
Joey - Under 100 gallons = nano tank! lol I love it!
Its a real nice Tank in my opinion. But you should get some hermit crabs
I know you say no coral. BUT you could/ should add some really simple leathers like toadstools or finger leathers that would require no extra lights and would just really add to it
The Anthias and cleaner wrasse require regular feeds throughout the day
