Can’t look any more authentic than that! Could you use this paper to cover a jewelry box, after or before it’s varnished? I love that the video focused on one process and showcasing how easy it is to do, for anyone. Plus it makes you get your imagination in gear to create more crafts. You’ve motivated us to go forward and create crafts we wouldn’t ordinarily do. I sometimes get stagnant and that drives me crazy! I’m thinking of covering books, tabletops, lampshades, medicinal jars, making old maps playing with different shades of brown, stamping old letters, etc., and so on. Thanks for being the fuel for our imagination. You’re so inspirational!
Hello my friend! I would say you could put it on either way, before or after varnish. I'd probably put it on after varnish showing all the torn edges. This is really fun, isn't it? I want to do some stamping and flowers on it. I absolutely love being your inspiration and fuel for your imagination! Thanks for always watching and sending me messages 💖😊😘
I've done this using glycerine with the water. I didn't know it could be done with just water. I also used my die cut machine to press a frame onto the surface which gave a genuine looking 3d effect
Love this, Donna! I primarily make mini albums/journals and this would be great for covers and embellishments! I’m also thinking of paper wallets and handbags as well as borders and embellishments for cards and boxes! Can’t wait to make a bunch!! 👍🏼👏🏼😍
Hi Theresa, this is fun, isn't it? I actually thought about making a little wallet with it too. I'll probably do a video on it. I'd love to see pictures of what you make out of it. Thanks for always watching and sending me messages 😊💖 📧 My email: masoncreationsetc@yahoo.com
That looks fantastic. I tried to get this with tea and coffee, but it didn't end up as good. I'll go and paint my "leather" with antiquing paste. I got this edge by starting with scorching edges. I'm from Daruvar, Croatia.
Hi there, I used to do the scorched edges too, but I kept setting off the smoke alarm lol... this way is a bit easier. Im glad you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊 ❤️
Thank you for the video. I need to know how durable and strong this leather is. Is it cable to be used to make items and tools that are orginaly leatherbased or does it tear as easily as normal paper and get damaged from water?
Hi there. It's paper and not leather, so it's going to react like any paper product. It will definitely rip or tear like paper. You can make it highly water resistant by using Polyvine heavy duty extreme as a final 2 or 3 coats. This product is made for exterior weatherproofing, so it will definitely make it very resistant to water. You would not be able to submerge in water and leave it there for any length of time. But if water splashed on your item, it would be protected. I'll leave you a link below so you can check it out. I just used it on a flowerpot and put a live plant in it that will get watered, and it's holding up nicely. I actually did a video and included a water test. I'll leave you that link as well so you can see the results. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖 Varnish-Polyvine Heavy Duty Extreme: decoupagenapkins.com/products/polyvine-heavy-duty-extreme-varnish?sca_ref=3969749.C8aAXEduCt Video: th-cam.com/video/07LUROr22E0/w-d-xo.html

Hi. Watching from southeastern PA. This came out beautiful. I’ll have to try this. I have ordered from Decoupage Napkins and will buy from them again. Note: The one thing I don’t like is the noise used when the name of the store pops onto the screen. I’m absorbed in what you’re doing, then the sudden noise makes me jump. 😟 Otherwise, your tutorials are great. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Diana! Thank you and I'm happy you enjoyed this video! I'm sorry the noise startled you. I'll do something a little more subtle. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖

Si bello e le immagini spiegano, ma non dici che colori o che prodotti stai usando! Che facciamo, tiriamo ad indovinare? Se vedessimo in sovraimpressione i nomi dei prodotti almeno capiremmo le parole in inglese per tradurle. Peccato perché volevo rifarlo a casa...😞
Hi Gemma, I actually did say the colors and products I was using. For paint colors, I used a tan, then a medium brown (nutmeg), a darker brown (espresso bean) and as my antique I used the darkest brown (cocoa). They were all Folkart paints. For the varnish I used Polyvine Heavy Duty Wood Varnish in a glossy finish. For the ink, I used Ranger Archival ink in black. You don't have to use the exact colors that I used. You can use any tan and 3 shades of brown. It appears that you are in another country, so I don't know if Folkart products are available to you. Thanks so much for watching!
